Rear Plastic Panel Removal

Is there a trick to get the plastic panels over the rear wheel wells off in the hatch area? It looks like there is a keyed lock but my keys don't work.

I'm trying to gain access to be able to replace the shocks.

shouldn't have to remove plastics to do that, peal back the carpet from behind the back seat up to the axle hump, afterwards just use a flat head to tuck it back under the plastic sides. there will be a bit of foam on the head of the screw to the shocks.
