Lt1 wont crank...
Hey everyone,
I finished getting everything hooked up today. When I tried to fire her up, I couldnt get the starter to kick in. The fuel pump & lights work, but not the starter.
I am using a standalone 96 LT1 harness & a ECM which has had the VATS programed out. I have the Purple wire from the C100 bulkhead connector running directly to the starter solenoid. So it must be something on the 3rd gen side of the car. Any ideas? What needs to be done to the 3rd gen VATS when there is no ECM to control it?

Does your VATS system work at all? There is a relay behind the drivers kick panel area, that relay is the start inhibit relay. Splice the two large wires together and that will disable VATS control of the starter.
