92 lt1 corvette motor with auto trans will it fit?

i have a chance to pick this up, and im not sure if the corvette lt1 and the camaro lt1 bolt in the same? are the motor mounts the same, and will the accesories fit/bolt up? ill do some more searching and hope to figure this one out but if anyone knows i would appreciate a little help. Thanks

AFAIK, the LT1 engines are all identical as far as the blocks, etc. Mounts may be a little different, & the accessories probably will be - but as long as it's not from a Corvette, the tranny should bolt in fine...

EDIT: Just read the subject line & saw that it's all from a Vette, so you likely won't be able to use the transmission - the Vettes use a sort of weird, half-transaxle-type setup which doesn't lend itself to easy swapping...

(OK, now someone correct me if my understanding of LT1 stuff is wrong!)

thanks for the reply, so the corvette does use different mounts, i remeber now that the trans wont bolt up withough some moddification. i was serching on ebay and found this lt1/trans for about $1,300 locally.

The earlier vettes didnt use the torque tube setup like that, the only thing you will need for the trans to install is your F body tailshaft housing so you have the torque arm mount.

The rest would fit and for the most part be easy to bolt in.

You would use the same motor mounts as any other LT1 which are the standard SBC clamshells on the engine and frame mounts on the car.
