few lt1 questions
School is winding down and i am getting closer to starting my lt1 swap. I have a few questions
1.) i would like to replace the motor/tranny mounts, i believe i have read that the lt1 mounts will work with the third gen mounts, so when buying new does it matter if i get the ones that are stock for my 85 iroc or for the 94 lt1
2.) i have a cold air intake that came with the donor car for the swap will it work with my iroc
3.) will the iroc radiator and fan work fine with the lt1
thanks in advance for all the help!

Re: few lt1 questions
1.) use the mounts for your 85 just get some good poly replacements
2.) you may have to do a little cutting but you can probably get it to work
3.) stock radiator will work you need the upper hose from the lt1 and everyone says use a corvett lower hose but i just cut a few inches off the end of my stock hose and it fits fine. these motors like to run a little warm so you will need to get a good dual fan setup the lt1 and ls1 fans drop in with little modding and are cheap and easy to find.

Re: few lt1 questions
i forgot to ask one question, im installing long tubes aswell, and was wondering if it would be easier to put the headers on the engine first then drop it in as one unit or put the engine in then the headers after.
thanks
thanks

Re: few lt1 questions
not sure i know of any long tubes that can be dropped in with the motor... i know for a fact if you have hedmans they can not be... that was a bad 45min trying... best way i have found if you have headers that fit tightly is to put them in place laying on the fender wells then drop the motor in. your gonna need to move them a few times so it helps to have a friend there... just keeps you from having to pull the motor back off the mounts to drop them in after.

Re: few lt1 questions
I made hedman longtubes work with my car. It did take more than 45 minutes. I had to clearance the a-arm bracket a bit and dent one of the primary tubes. I should have worked the k-member more as I still have some vibrations at idle.
