oil pressure and brake issue
I have been driving my car around for a while now with the lt1 and it runs well but i have found that if i slam on the brakes they dont work... may be vac related new motor has a nice sized cam... and also when i nail the brakes or even when i just get on them enough to lean the car forward my oil pressure drops to nothing.
Its got a melling hv oil pump and rockers that have flow restrictors in them so its getting good oil pressure otherwise and most of it is staying down in the bottom end not a lot goes to the heads... what could be causing this?
the brake issue is probably just loss of vac pressure but im not sure what would cause the sudden loss of oil pressure???

Are you losing the power brakes after having been on the throttle hard?
The oil pressure problem is your oil pump pick-up has fallen off of the oil pump.

Re: oil pressure and brake issue
well got it resolved after 13hrs of work.... had to pull the motor off the mounts to get the pan out then found out that knocking noise i had been hearing wasnt the pickup bouncing around....
Found one of my main cap bolts had broken about 1/2" into the block lucky for me it was too long to fall out and get hit by the crank.
ended up having to drill it out and replace it with a new grade 8 bolt so it was a long day but hey atleast i can use my brakes now without oil pressure dropping to nothing and i found a problem before it killed my motor.
Thanx for pointing me in the right direction guys.
