looking to lt1 swap, will this work?
Hey thirdgen, I'm working on an lt1 swap and I was wondering, would an lt1 from a 95 police interceptor caprice work just like the ones from the newer camaro and birds? Or would It need heavy modifications? The caprice is a lot easier to come by and all the camaro and firebirds are over priced around here. I'd like as much info as I can get about these swaps. I've read all the ltx swap threads but I'm sure some of you have some tips and tricks you've been keepin to yourselves.
Thanks guys,
Yours truly

So it will all fit with little to no modification? I don't have the equipment or the tools to do big fabrication mods to my car.

You are putting a non factory engine into your car. There WILL be adjustments made. Yes, the LT1's dimentions are the same as a SBC, so as far as motor mount and such it'll bolt right in.
But you'll need to make a Power steering reservoir mount.
