Has anyone heard from Pocket?
I talked to him beginning of April and he replied my harness was about done. I have sent him 2 emails since asking about it and havent heard anything back, and its going on 2 months since last contact. I know it seems impatient, but he's had it for almost 8 months now and I've been getting responses to my monthly check ins until now.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: Has anyone heard from Pocket?
I spoke with him a few weeks ago. He has been super busy and out of town a lot. I feel your pain. I am in the same boat. I am to the point where I am ready to put my engine back in my car, but I wanted the harness to be installed on it before I do. There isn't much we can do I guess. He's had mine for about 7 months.

Re: Has anyone heard from Pocket?
yeah i spoke to him about doing my harness and he said he could do it. he kept telling me he could do it but he kept telling me to contact him next month. then i would and he would say the same thing. so i waited and waited. then i finally just asked him if he was still able b/c that was the last thing i need to get my car back together. he said he's been really busy which i understand but i waited a few months for him.then he finally just told me that i should have someone else do it b/c hes not sure if hes going to do them any more. so i sent my harness out to hawks and they have been great. i know its pricy but they are a great company and they can answer any questions you may have.

Re: Has anyone heard from Pocket?
well, at least I know I'm not alone. If he would say either its done pay me, or I didnt start it I'll send it back, that would at least be something. I'd pay hawks or someone else to do it. Its un-nerving when someone has your property and is doing you a service, then they disappear for long periods. Oh well, hopefully he responds with something soon either way.

Re: Has anyone heard from Pocket?
Last I knew (beginning of May) he was going on a long, multi-month, business trip. He had mine since early Nov. 2011, so I had him send it back to me. I finished it myself, in a couple weeks by using his multiple threads in the sticky area. Sounds like the trips are going to be regular events for him, so be aware.

Re: Has anyone heard from Pocket?
I just got off the phone with Speartech and Pocket. Speartech doesn't combine LS1 harnesses & engine harnesses on anything earlier than 1990. Of course, mine is an '89, but no worries, Jon (Pocket) is back in town this weekend and said that he is hoping to work on my harness and have it done here within the next week or so.
So you should probably contact him Ssantac

hey guys i know a guy who does them. he's doing mine and he has very good prices. he's done other things for me and he's been just super. he has a lot of knowledge with motor and cars and he's the kinda guy you can trust. I'll get a hold of him and ask if he wants to chime in on this thread.

Thanks dprest,
I emailed him maybe a week or so ago. That is the only way I have to contact him. I'll send him another one, maybe if its on top of the pile he'll see it and answer!
How long has he had yours? Hes had mine since late Oct.

Re: Has anyone heard from Pocket?
I am the guy Brian is talking about. I just finished my harness and the car is running great. If pocket is too backed up I am willing to do other harnesses for people.
Here is a link to the harness I did on my car. http://ls1tech.com/forums/conversion...w-build-3.html
I will be putting together some pricing with different harness rewire options and they will be up on my site in the next few weeks. www.classicdaily.net
PM me or email through my site if you have any questions.

Re: Has anyone heard from Pocket?
Jon (Pocket) has had my dad's LT1 swap harness since October (I think it was October, maybe September, not sure), and I've been checking in with him every month and just this past week he said it was done just hadn't shipped it out yet. He's been slower to respond to my text messages, but I know he's good for it because this is the third harness he's built for me and the other two were excellent.
I know his new job has been taking him out of town on a regular basis and to his credit, he hasn't been taking any more harness jobs as he realizes he doesn't have time for it anymore. I'm in the same boat as many of you, we have an engine and transmission ready to but no harness to plug into it. I was hoping he'd have it shipped out this week but I am not sure if that happened because I haven't gotten a response from him.

Re: Has anyone heard from Pocket?
Bluezee,
Did yours ship??? Thats good that he's not taking anymore right now. Theres another guy in the hobby I'm in that is the same, except he keeps taking orders and is backlogged YEARS!!!
Pockets had mine since Oct. 20th. I've had the emails that mines next, mines in process, mine is being finished right now, then...nothing. I did get an email that said hopefully the end of this week, along with dprest's harness.
I know things change, and he's done enough of them that I'm sure I'll get it eventually and all, but its frustrating when your promised something like I think it was 2 mo. max turn around that ends up 8mo and counting.
Fingers crossed for this week!

I talked to Jon today. It sounded like he was trying to get all of the harnesses that he has done this weekend. Maybe Monday we will all get a surprise!
I can't imagine anyone waiting YEARS for backlogged anything! Things already take long enough as it is.

Has anyone heard from Pocket this week? I was wondering if he got anyone's harness done this past weekend. Has anyone used Painless to combine their harnesses together? I don't know if they even do that or not.

Speartech might do it, they are just as good if not better than painless. Im almost sure though, they wont take YOUR harness and combine it, i think they would just make a brand new harness instead..

Re: Has anyone heard from Pocket?
Back in about 2001 when I joined the site I bought a painless harness for the swap as before then not many LT1 swaps were completed and I was having some problems with my stock harness. I combined the 2 harnesses myself using a GM manual and some wiring pinouts from this site. The painless kit is nice in that it is a stand alone harness, but the bad about it is it lacks some of the wiring that is needed for the swap. I had to add the AC pinouts and fan pins to the harness. Lucky for me I had a spare harness to get the pins and wires from. I just put my old LT1 in my dads car and used the same painless harness that I bought in 01 and it is still working great.

Yeah, I'm actually seriously considering doing my own harness, which is a scary thought for me. I know I can do it. I'm just not that fond of dealing with wiring on that large of a scale.

Re: Has anyone heard from Pocket?
It is really not that bad to make the harness. Just especially if you are a 90-92 car. Take your time and follow all the threads on here and you should be good. I have done it 3 times now on LT1s and am getting ready to finish my first LS1 harness here very soon. Just be sure to have patience and if you get frustrated just take a break or else it could be a little overwhelming. Also, it is good to have a friend to help hold wires or solder for you.

Re: Has anyone heard from Pocket?
I paid for my dads harness back in October and paid for the return shipping. im not going to make my own. I just need it shipped out to me since he has told me it is finished. I would like to think he could have a friend or family member drop it off at UPS if getting to the store is the inconvenience.

Hell I'd just like to get my stuff back now...wherever he is in the process. I've got the city on my *** about this car and that's my last thing needed. I've already spent too much and got shafted too much in this process. I really didn't think I'd have a hellacious time with him. Blue I hope u get ur stuff soon...all of us.

8 months now, that's not impatient, you have a legitimate concern and have been very patient.
Hope he's alright. I had fun fixing alot of mistakes in one of his first swap harnesses. IAC was backwards, o2's were backwards lol. Caused some weird issues I'll tell ya.

Just an update. It still hasn't come in the mail yet, he said his dad shipped it out a week ago today so I would have thought it'd be here by now. I tried texting and calling to get a tracking number with no luck.

This is getting sadder and sadder. I hope he's not lying to people now. I know we all get busy, but hell, for those of us that he has OUR property, I would think he would at least give us the courtesy of answering our various contact attempts. Last I checked, LS harnesses werent cheap.
I just emailed him earlier today if he hasnt started mine, to just send it back. If he did start it, at this point I'm willing to pay extra to have it done by beginning of July. Of course there has been no response yet.

Re: Has anyone heard from Pocket?
More updates:
I called Jon this morning and he answered. I asked him if he had a tracking number for my dad's harness and his reply was, "I don't, and there's nothing I can do because I'm four states away right now."
So I asked him if he would mind checking with his dad to see if he has a tracking number, and he said "You'll know something when I know something."
I then asked him that his dad in fact did ship out the harness, he said yes, and then I asked to confirm that it was last thursday, and he said "something like that".
I told him again that my dad's car is sitting in a friend's shop on his lift with the engine and transmission installed and holding up work because we have no harness. He said something else along the lines of I will know when he does.
I looked up his home phone number on whitepages.com to see if I could speak to his dad and ask if he had a tracking number but nobody answered, and I didn't want to leave a message so maybe I'll try calling back later...

Has anyone paid with paypal that has his paypal address in their history? I am thinking that if this goes on much longer Im going to send him a bill to cover his services that I paid for as well as the two harnesses that I purhased and shipped to him.

Re: Has anyone heard from Pocket?
My dad called his home number and got ahold of his mom who said that his dad did ship out a harness last week but it went to a Piper, or Pfieffer or something like that, nowhere close to our name so I would take that as his dad really didn't ship out our harness like Jon said he did last week.
I left Jon a pretty lengthy voicemail on his cell phone about 5 minutes ago telling him that we spoke to his mom and that it appears that he never sent ours out, and that he needs to send our harness back whether it's finished or not. And if it's not finished my dad wants his money back. I gotta get the car running as it's taking up a bay at a local shop. I told him I'd really appreciate a return call so we will see.
For the record, I hate putting his dirty laundry out like this but I feel that I've been more than patient and understanding, and I just want it shipped back to me regardless of if it's done. And I expect full financial reimbursement if it's not completed.

Re: Has anyone heard from Pocket?
This sucks to hear. And to think, I was close to sending him mine last fall for him to do. I ended up doing it myself. He has been an outstanding help to this forum in the past and if what appears to be is true that's a shame.
I hope everyone gets their harnesses back and gets the finances taken care of also. But on the bright side, at least the info on how to do this is out there for others to take on this task with out much difficulty.

Pocket has always been so helpful around here, i can't believe he would turn shady over night. Then again charging 400 dollars a harness and taking 6 months to finish is beyond comprehension. You can always get you money back if you used paypal.

Re: Has anyone heard from Pocket?
I say for those who havent tried to contact him in the last few days, try again and we all give it a week or so. Then maybe whoever is closest might try a face to face, get everyones harness. Done, in prog, not started...whatever. We all pitch in to cover any costs of the trip, including our individual shipping, and go on to finish this ourselves.
What do you all think?

Re: Has anyone heard from Pocket?
WOW I cant believe this is happenning as I got my harness back from him in october and it was done in a few weeks. I guess thats before he got busy. I hope it all works out for you all as it seems like his reputation is gonna suffer because of this. I dont understand why he wouldnt respond to emails or even post in here saying whats happenning. He was alway quick to respond before

Re: Has anyone heard from Pocket?
I did a trade with him. Had a Spohn K member I could not use.
This has just gotten away from him, a little behind turned into a lot behind. Something is keeping him from this work. It has to pain him that everyone is after him with pitchforks now. Even worse, the folks with the pitchforks have good reason.
