what thickness did anybody use to notch their frame for the A/C compressor.

The piece you cut out, can't you just flip it & weld it back in upside down to fill the hole you created.

Yes, but then you'd still have holes at the ends.

The crossmember is 1/8". I got a piece of 2" x 3' 1/8" strap from Ace and used that to fill in the notch.

Don't forget to notch it for oil pan clearance too.

I just put a dent in it with a hammer and there was no need to clearance the oilpan either.

I dented it in at first, but It looked way too close. I have the engine back out, so I figured why not do it while it's out.
