I have a 6.0 with a comp cam 281lr cam and will be upgrading to prc 225 ls6 heads and im running the holley hp ecu and im trying to decide on headers. Im torn between the hedman mid length and sw long tubes. I know the long tubes will provide more power but i would like opinions on how much? Would it be just upper rpm power or do you think im giving up alot through out the rpm range? Im going to run true duel 2.5 inch exhaust and a 125 shot for the track. By the time i buy the lts and have them coated im looking at twice the price of the mid length with less ground clearance. My car is a street car with about a have dozen trips to the strip during the summer. Any opinions on this matter are appreciated thanks.

How deep into winning at the track are you? Going faster costs money. We all know that long tubes give you the most bang for the bucks. I'm a LT1 guy and at higher rpms the long tubes (if tuned) start scavenging and help out with HP. Around town they just look good and sound cool. When trying to make a car that will be a good daily driver and a track hero remember the word "compromise."

go for the mids....no one could ever provide me proof with actual numbers that lt's are that much better than mids.

if you are trying to squeeze out every tenth and live at the track....lt's are the way to go.

hp #'s are generally pretty close when it comes to headers, its the torque numbers that improve.

Im thinking the mids will get the job done. My car wont be a track rat and i do plan a small shot at the track to run the number im looking for. I think for price, fitment and ground clearance they are an excellent option thanks for being the first to document these much appreciated.

I have Edelbrock TES mids on mine, sound good and the ground clearance is awesome! That was my biggest deciding factor when choosing headers.
