That combo has got to have a lot more in it. For those mod's, 14 flat is leaving a lot on the table. What is your 60 foot? mabye the launch is where you're losing the time? I ran a 327 with 76cc heads (like 7.5:1 compression) and massively sunken valve seats, in a heavy 2nd gen, to around the same time, although at 99.5 mph.

updated sig. 13.998@100.6mph it was very humid out there probably 95 most of the time. i have a bad exhaust leak and i was not getting any kind of traction on my street tires. my best sixty foot was a 2.10... i didnt get to spray the nitrous like i planned because my nitrous side fuel pressure bottomed out... went to 1 psi. so i played the safe route and didnt spray it.

there is no doubt i am loosing alot in the 60 foot. like i said 2.10 60ft. i have lowering springs and i think those are killing my launches plus the track wasnt really "hooking" yesterday. i agree i should be running better with my setup but on street tires with those 60 fts. and weighing 3600 with me in it i am pretty pleased. i havent done much to the carb just changed a couple jets when it was on the dyno i more to pull out of it i think. i am putting 1.52 comp pro magnum roller rockers on it before i go next time that should help a couple tenths. i also am having a very hard time sealing up my edlebrock T.E.S. headers. i mean i have a BAD leak on the driver side, i know that is hurting my horsepower a little. so i think if i can clear up these leaks with the copper gaskets i got and the roller rockers i think it should do close to mid 13-s i also have not taken off the front sway bar and wonderbar so i will do that before i go next time as well.

btw the block is a factory idk how many miles block. so i could be low on compression i still have yet to check that. the heads are pretty much stock. 64 cc stock sized valves and springs these times are even with stock rocker arms. so it is a very mild setup i just have a decent sized carb on it and a very very mild streetable cam. with a couple more tweeks to the carb and those mods i was talking about above i can pull some out of it but i think some is all im going to get. with my weight and suspension(no SFC's factory everything other than LCA relocation brackets) i think im doing good. i will be changing the setup before next year but i think this setup has performed well for my first build.

flew off at about 120 on the way to the track... i hate the way those things mount to the hood not very secure.

I figured it was something like that! Didn't hit anyone behind ya did it?? My buddy bought a nice 68 camaro and when we were stretching her legs on a back country road all the rear window trim came off. By the time we got turned around to pick it up a semi ran it over, and we never saw another vehicle on that whole road rest of the way home... totally sucked!!

Re: maroon88iroc at the track

i couldn't come up there with you cause i was pullin' a trailer, lol!!!

at any rate, i think your suspension and tire selection are the limiting factor, cause if you ask Rich, the track prep was fine! HAHAHA! i was pulling pretty decent 60's myself. you really should have ran those DR's i had with me. i had a spare driveshaft so you'd have been safe if you tore that up...but i don't have a spare rearend for you really good driving on your part though, squeezing a 13.99 out of it with street tires and as horrible of air as we had yesterday was EXTREMELY impressive.

lol you were giving me a run for my money with that old diesel towing 3000 pounds lol. appreciate the compliments. i konw my tires and springs are killing me at the strip i just cant seem to commit to making the car ugly(by jacking up the back and using the too big of tires i have) just to race it. you know ive always been more into the looks rather than speed, ill probably end up getting some v6 springs and cut them to a height i like hopefully that lower spring rate will help me out, i know these stiff intrax arent doing anything for my launch. with those and some nice 26" tires and maybe some drag shocks on the back i could get it to do better thats probably what ill be looking into if i want to continue to race it out there which im sure i will i have the best time out there at the track even though the car isnt "fast" its still exciting as all get out.

btw i never took those spring raisers out, that we put in the week before either, so i know that hurt the launches even more. just keep me updated on when you are going out there, i will go with you if im off.
