update it's been awhile
well Got the car ready to take it out the first time and what happened the oil pump froze up and sheared the distributor gear off and shut the motor down good thing 
so i pulled the motor to fix the issues and figured while i have it out i would fix the firewall and also paint the engine compartment and make the motor look better. so here are the photos

Looks good. I had a similar problem with a 454 in a Chevelle. the bottom of the distributor broke off in the oil pump shaft. Still ran, just no oil pressure.

first 2 photos are the engine compartment before the repaint and clean up the last pic is the car all cleaned up ready to go to the show it was idling there about 5 minutes later it was broke .

me and my son thrashed on the car for about 2 weeks prior trying to get it ready to go to the show.. we had changed the fuel pump and regulator. new electric fan with temp control hooked up the power steering. here is the reason. I had picked up another car for him. he's 23 I know he should have gotton it for himself but I found it drove 2 hrs to go see it and bought it drove it home and spent a good 3 days cleaning it. for him 3 weeks later traded it for a bagged mini truck go figure. kids
