Hello all, starting a build thread.

Re: Hello all, starting a build thread.
Well, had the clutch bled. Sorta. I got it to run, needs some tuning. I'm having trouble shifting it while it's running, anyone know why that would be?

Re: Hello all, starting a build thread.
Ok, it doesn't really feel that great. The car
Needs a new wheel cylinder, and front brakes, and front tires, but I might wait until I get front rims.

Re: Hello all, starting a build thread.
When I bled the clutch for my old camaro, it took what seemed like forever before it was even close to right. Also make sure it isnt leaking, and listen for any abnormal noises coming from the trans with the engine running.

also i should say if i put it in first, press the clutch and try to start it, it doesnt move. if i leave the clutch engaged and try and start it it will roll. could it still be air in the lines?

Re: Hello all, starting a build thread.
ive driven it a little, just up and down the driveway. the tranny makes noise with the car running. it shifts into all gears now. revese grinds, gotta be careful. i wanna make sure the alternator is working, making sure the one wire alternator is hooked up correctly.

That alternator looks like it will work just fine.

Re: Hello all, starting a build thread.
Alternator is in. Needs a battery. It made it around the block the other day. It has like 3.08 gears in it and still hauls ***. Way faster than my lt1 m6 Camaro. I have the timing right. It's not getting enough gas I think. I gotta mess with it more tomorrow. I'm gunna relocate the battery to the trunk, and hook up the exhaust. Coming along!!
Here's the first driving video. Notice the stalling and bad shocks.

Well the car has exhaust on it. Hangs really low, but it's temporary. I got good fuel pressure but I can't keep the car running, anyone know why? It seems to run on all cylinders when I start it it just shuts off. It won't idle, also doesn't run well under load, so I have to deal with that. Hopefully it's almost done!

Re: Hello all, starting a build thread.
Well it's not using a screen. I cut all the lines at the tank, And I switched the pickup with the return. so it picks up fuel from the return, then as soon as its out of the tank switches to the pick up line. Then it uses the stock line and filter all the way up to the engine bay, where I have a rubber hose off the stock metal line running to the mechanical pump. I know it's ghetto, but it's temporary until I can sump my tank and run a 6an line.

Re: Hello all, starting a build thread.
Yea I know. In the future it's gunna get the g force upgrade and a nine inch, but I want it running first. All of the sudden I can't keep it running. It starts and unless I give it gas it sputters and dies. Also backfires out of the carb. It seems like it struggling to get gas. The fuel pressure is good. I'm using a regulator, but do I need it?

Re: Hello all, starting a build thread.
It was running well today. I'm going to eliminate the filter under the car since I have one by the carb. In the future I'm gunna just run a 6an line from the fuel pump back to the tank which I will sump.
Anyway for today's project I got 95% of the body work done. I have to fix one dent, and get a new front gfx. Then when it's warm I'll do one of the budget paint jobs. Here's some pictures.

Re: Hello all, starting a build thread.
if you are not intending on putting a larger hp engine in the car, i recommend staying with what you have, as there are other things you can spend your money on that will yeild better results.

Ok, I just figured it would have been a nicer set up. Oh well.
Today's project was cleaning my ugly tail lights up.
Before , covered in VHT,not glossy enough.

Re: Hello all, starting a build thread.
Thanks! It's come a long way. If I ever wanted them tinted the body shop I used to work for makes lights a perfect mirrored black. But I like them restored.

Re: Hello all, starting a build thread.
It's strange to think how far it's come, working in a driveway, on a super limited budget, in just about 4 months.
Day I bought it
Can't wait till it has some wheels. My original plans where for a strip Car, but now it's just gunna be a decent all around street car. I'm thinking some z06 replicas? Idk, I'll play it by ear. My next project is lexan headlight covers, and battery truck relocation.

Anyone have any RS side skirt badges? One of mine is gone, another is painted over. I can probably fix it, but if some one has one or two for cheap, let me know.

Re: Hello all, starting a build thread.
Thanks! Well I made the fuel line, got the timing right, but it's got bad gas, I'll siphon it all out tomorrow and get good gas in it. It ran out of a bottle. Ran like a beast!
SOme random pictures, I'm iffy on the Chevy emblem. Is it tacky?
I have a short video as well but don't know how to post it.

Re: Hello all, starting a build thread.
Today's project! Started on my headlight covers. In these pics they're just sitting on there, they will look better when they're actually mounted.
Again they aren't flush yet, cause they're just sitting there. But when I decide on mounting them, they'll look good. Anyone have any ideas on mounting them?

What color were you thinking for the car? I'm usually not a primer/flat fan, but yours looks pretty good.all black! Satin black would do..

I live in new York, we could swap addresses, you could send them in an envelope, and I could send you $10 in a birthday card or something. Bonus, cause I'll get a funny card for your reading enjoyment.*
