Finally got my 3rd Gen Camaro
After some hard looking I finally found my car. I wasent looking for a heritage edition. I really wanted a all black or all red 91 but the stripes have grown on me. It is pretty loaded. Does not have leather or t-tops of course but pretty much everything else. I've had it a week now but it has been in the shop getting emissions sorted out and it has been crappy weather here. Today was pretty good. Got it out and washed and vacuumed it. My carpet/upholstry cleaner took a dump on me after 10 years so I had to buy a new one this evening so I'll do the seats and carpet tomorrow after the morning cruise in. Loving it so far. The 5 speed with that 305 is all I need. It has your typical late 80's early 90's crappy GM paint but none came off on the buffing pad so I'm good for a while. I'll have it resprayed maybe next year. Only needs right now are the front turn signal lenses. Most all I looked at were like this. Nasty looking.

That's a good looking car. I love the red with the black stripes.

Looks good, paint doesnt look bad at all in pics, interior looks pretty good too, but I'm sure as we all know pictures can hide a lot of issues. Only thing I see interior wise is the floor mats arnt perfect, but who cares about floor mats? Does the paint show wear in person? Looks fine in the pics.. front bumper cover looks a little faded but that may just be the lighting, post some pics of the issues you are talkin about, Looks really good to me if its all origional.. Post some more pics, info (mileage, any work done, anything after market or redone etc.. looks like a nice solid car to me, personally I'd rather have a hardtop with cloth since they are slightly less common and dont suffer from leaky t-tops and cracked leather seat covers... nice car!

Sweet! I note that the boot is riding down on the shifter lever. There's supposed to be a round rubber piece that slips over the lever and rides on a shoulder there to keep the boot in place (tucked up around the shift ****). Often when disassembled, the piece falls off into the bowels of the console. Might still be there.
EDIT: My vbGarage (icon next to my online status, below and to the left) shows how the boot is suppose to ride, if you're interested.

Re: Finally got my 3rd Gen Camaro
Thanks for the info on the shifter boot. I wondered about that. The car has little things like that to attend to. I have the lift support covers coming, the radio is on the fritz (have a 92 model CD player coming), need front turn signal lenses and it has a slight skip at idle when warm. I'm thinking a set of plugs and a fuel injection service with filter and clean the throttle body. I'll have all this done soon. It is going to be the car I take on Power Tour this year. As far as specs go here is the run down:
120k miles
Only mods are flowmaster exhaust and K&N filters
I have a pretty detailed service history where normal maintence and repair
part have been done.
Wheels were polished at one point. Undecided what I want to do with that
Kuhmo tires, new shocks, and other suspension parts replaced with stock
From what I see it has everything except leather, t-tops and 1LE package. Even has a block heater and oil cooler.

Nice find, looks like a very nice car. I like the red with black strips with grey interior color combination..one of my favorites. I have a 91, I'm also debating on what to do with the wheels, I'm going with something aftermarket just haven't decided on what yet.

Re: Finally got my 3rd Gen Camaro
It is going to stay stock for a while. I'm going to take it down and have a light tint put on the windows though. I was specifically looking for a car without t-tops so that worked out good for me. I had them on a 78 trans am I had and it was not all that it was cracked up to be. I've shampoo'd the interior and it came cleaner and the factory 92 CD player came today so next is to install that and get a set of turn signal lenses. Cruise season starts in three weeks.

Re: Finally got my 3rd Gen Camaro
Awesome looking car Damon! I applaud you for keeping the car original. And I agree with getting new GM parking light lenses. After you get those in the car is going to be perfect.
As for the injectors. They are very problematic and your best bet would be to skip the service to yours (most injector companies know these injectors are so bad theyll refuse to service them) and pick up some Bosch III style injectors from South Bay Fuel Injectors. Theyre out of New York and have an excellent reputation and pricing for injectors for our cars.
Hope this helps.

This car was a customer order car and they specifically ordered it with silver wheels. Personally I prefer it without the painted wheels.
