NEED opinions on my White 92 Camaro. (new exterior)

Just finished the exterior of my 92 camaro RS. 305 V8. Little mods done to engine (so far) 55,000 original miles. White paint with diamond pearl. Matte black touren tr60 wheels (18in)

Thoughts on restoration would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

If your happy with it. Than just leave it alone...

This board is definitely a great place to get lots of ideas on what to do and how to do it.

Read as much as you can and ask questions...

Re: NEED opinions on my White 92 Camaro. (new exterior)

Well it depends on what you want to do, and how much your willing to spend.

If your looking for a big horsepower increase than you might want to look into an engine swap. Its really not worth putting big money into those 305's.

But if you must,I would suggest a full exhaust. You'll get a good 8-12HP (maybe more) increase and a nice sound to go with it.

Check out the exhaust subforum for some info on headers and catbacks

I don't know but I think maybe some deck strips and, or black out the head light area.

Re: NEED opinions on my White 92 Camaro. (new exterior)

I think black or red heritage stripes would look good, you have a lot of white on that car. If you get the decal kit you can probably remove them if you decide you don't like it. Check with your paint guy.

Power wise - what are you trying to achieve and what are you willing to spend?
- Moderate power: World SR Torqer 305 heads, cam, Edelbrock TBI intake, Hooker 2055 headers and y-pipe, high flow cat, Flowmaster 3" cat back exhaust - 250-300 hp
- Big power: 350 SBC or LS1+ engine swap plus all the upgrades to accommodate it - 300-450+ hp, more money, more work.

Only thing I would do is black out the headlight area.

Drive the living **** out of it!

The L03 is not exactly a performance-oriented motor. But for a little more low-end grunt you could try the "Ultimate TBI mods", it woke my car up a little bit. Also check your fuel pressure, GM sent the L03 cars out of the factory with pretty random pressures. There's a tech article on how to make your stock FPR adjustable. You can potentially squeeze a few extra ponies out of it by toying with that. Full exhaust should put you close to 180whp. After that, swapping rear gears may be worthwhile depending on your goals for the car (gas mileage vs. low-end get-up). It's not going to be the fastest thing in town but there's nothing wrong with getting mid-twenties on the highway.

If you're not satisfied with that, your two options are to either start looking at engine swaps or learn how to tune. Many others on these forums have gotten impressive gains results from ECM tuning.

It really depends on your intentions for the car.
