Complete newbie & bought 1st Iroc
Hello fellow camero lovers. I just bought my husband a 1986 Z28 Iroc & have many Q's on how to get this car up and running. When I bought the car, I was told that the original 305 was replaced with a brand new 350, water pump, and radiator (which was true). Once I drove it home, we opened the hood and tried to figure out what was next. We don't know much about how things are supposed to be hooked up, but we did find that there's a connector line missing from the oil cooling canister to the radiator. Looked online without any luck. Don't know what it's called in order to buy the part. The hood striker (secondary safety hood latch - the hook that is bolted on the top of the hood) is too bent and needs to be replaced, can't find this online either. If there's anyone that can help us out it would be greatly appreciated. I will post some pix tomorrow of our new baby to share with you.

Congrartulations on the new old car!
Not sure what you mean by oil cooling canister. Some pics would be helpful.
For the Hood Latch a quick Google search showed the following.
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/91-Camaro...item339c5df5b9
If you have any junkyards nearby you could also check there for cheap parts. Places like Pick-n-Pull or Pull-a-Part can be good if you don't mind pulling the part yourself. You'll just need to bring your own tools.
They also have an online inventory you can check for your area. Just check for anything 82-92 Camaro/Firebird.
How many miles on your new Iroc?

I totally apologize, I was so excited to start posting, I didn't pay attention to my spelling.

The odometer read 72,583, but I'm not sure of exact miles from when the new engine was put in. I'm guessing the new engine has less than 100 miles because it was just done about 3 weeks before I bought it.
