T5 swap done!

Oh man such an improvment! It revs so quick and pulls SO hard, everything works and looks like OEM, LOVE IT!

Re: T5 swap done!

Looks very nice. Just wondering why you chose a NON W/C trans when you knew you had the 5.7 in there?

Oh I see. Well, whatever works for now, right? You can always upgrade later. I think it looks nice though-mine had a Hurst shifter and I got REALLY used to it. Made a big difference to me.

Re: T5 swap done!

So I can take a t5 out of a 305 for example and it would be a bolt on for a 350? Just wondering cause I just bought a 92 formula.

Re: T5 swap done!

I'm seriosuly considering doing this swap myself. My buddy just put a T10 4 speed in his 88 GTA and now I've been bit by the manual transmission bug. The only thing that stops me is how will the T5 handle my future power mods, such as Vortec heads, cam, and possibly even a supercharger?

How hard is it to dig up a WC T5 and what were they installed in?

Do it yourself, I did it in less than a weekend...well, with help from another member. It's a pretty much straight forward swap with plenty of write ups and how to's. It makes a HUGE difference.

Re: T5 swap done!

I've got the swap sittin' in the garage. Ho hum, just need a little time and motivation. Unfortunately I have other things going on other than just the car, and even then, I have a few projects on the car to finish first.

....I'll do it someday!!!!!!!!
