well, picked up this 92 GTA thursday, and she is a long term project and had much neglect.. but other than paint, it is a numbers/options matching car. 92 Trans Am GTA with L98, 700R4, 3.23 limited slip, WS6 pkg, leather seats, hardtop... i put some old tires off my 02, but next week she will get new sway bar links, water pump(leaking), hoses, belt, t-stat, plugs, wires, cap, rotor, module(always go bad anyway), and some light bulbs replaced. needs both fenders, wing, taillights, dr side pwr lock switch, dr side pwr window, seals, the whole nine yards, hopefully in a bout 1- 1/12 yrs when my wife gets out of nursing school... but i couldnt pass up another 92 GTA, my dad has my other one, i sold it and regret it.... pics next post

Re: fbody #6

Definitely needs a lot of work but looks like it should be a pretty nice project.

Just passed through sebring yesterday on my way to Clewiston. Looks like a good project. At least you have both front ground effects. You going to keep it black or change it to what looks like it's original color of red?

Re: fbody #6

Be prepared to drop $300+ on 92 correct tail lights IF/WHEN you can find some.

And it looks like the shifter **** & console top have already be swapped over to the 87 style pieces. A p2 should, if I understand correctly, have the **** style shifter top & the slider console top. My 87 has the style you have right now, but I know that is correct for 87.

What is the difference from 87 to 92? His looks exactly as my 91' bird does. I've seen other 91-92gta's that have the same shifter **** and console top as me. Never seen the "slider" console top before.

Re: fbody #6

Your right, nothing in Clewiston...except my grandmother. I live between Lakeland and Tampa right off I-4. Takes about 1-1/2 to 2 hours to get to Sebring. You ever go to the South East regional board? There are a few guys here in the Tampa/Ft. Myers area that are planning to go to Bradenton Motorsports park or maybe something else random one of these days.

Re: fbody #6

thursday she got a new water pump, t-stat, upper/lower hoses, plugs, wires, cap, rotor, serp belt, fuel filter.. runs better, needs more fresh gas and possibly a new module and coil, think they are weak, alt is weak too.... when i pulled out the old filter, it looked like swamp water coming out, and i need an intake tube, it has one of them k&n that bolts right on the TB..... also got lucky from a local scrap yard that had a 92 v6, that i scored alot of misc int stuff and 2 perfect fenders for $100.... will keep you guys posted
