82 Trans Am, work in progress
figured I'd start a thread about my car, I bought it two years ago for $1000 with 121,000km.
The car was mostly stock when I bought it.

ya the usually stuff: make it run 11s, Frame connectors, UMI torque arm relocation crossmember, Rebuild the 10 bolt with a new posi and either 3.73 or 4.10 gears, and a set of weld prostars....etc..I've got a pretty big list of future plans.

it'll be my daily driver(except winter)for as long as I have it. I'd hate to throw money at something that's just gonna sit there collecting dust.

Nice! Looks like your making some good progress. And I agree...steal and a half for a grand! Also, HOLY CRAP that sway bar was absolutely tiny! Probably floss your teeth with it! LoL

Re: 82 Trans Am, work in progress
all the linkage/bushings. This linkage stuff SUCKS. I've
had to replace the z-bar twice. NEVER buy a z-bar
'MADE IN CHINA'. The steel was so weak it bent the
first time i pressed the clutch pedal. The shifter and
linkage i replaced with Hurst Competition Plus shifter
and Hurst Competition Plus Pro Linkage Kit.
Do not despair as there is a simple solution imho.
Hydraulic throw out bearing!!!
I'm planning on doing a 5 or 6 speed conversion,
depending on funds. Instead of using a master/slave
cylinder setup, i will be doing a hydraulic throw out
bearing. This way there is not only NO linkage but
not even a fork... LOL

Re: 82 Trans Am, work in progress
not to much to update, I got the frame connectors in I didn't take any pictures they kinda blend right in.
I got this proform secondary diaphragm, the check ball was missing from the holley one and causing a bogg that didn't respond to spring changes.

After with sportlines and 195/70r14 front and 235/60r14 rear tires
its sits higher with the sportlines but thats ok cause it also rides a lot nicer and I drove over a few speed bumps today with out scraping.
