While at the 2012 Hot Rod Power Tour, in Madison, IL today..I ended up checking out a sweet Formula. Ends up it was T Top 350!

We ended up pulling off the the side and getting some decent pictures. Excuse the bugs on my car...im in the middle of a 3600 mile trip in my 3rdgen lol

Turns out his fuel pump took a poo.. They got one from a local parts store I go to every once in awhile, Performance Parts plus..
I'm loading my pix now and will post a link to all the 3rdgens and other randomness I took pix of today.

I got what had the making of an amazing picture. I've always wanted to take my car on Route 66 and I did today. I even found an old garage with a Route 66 sign. It looks like there was some crap on the lens, and the photo definitely didnt turn out how I wanted

In this pic on the left is Justin89Formy, TTOP350 is in the middle and thats me on the right. During this conversation BIGMODS is over at the GM motor medic tent diagnosing his fuel pump. We later put a new Walbro255 in it and we got home OK yesterday. It was great meeting you guys, thanks for all the support with the fuel pump issue.

I also got to meet and talk to DAVECS1 this week too. Loaned the dizzy out of his TA so a buddy could make the 'Tour. Took his blown C3 vette and it ate some lifters and cut his days short. Best of luck Dave!

I always wanted to go on one of these power tours.supposedly my vert went on the one in 2010 before prev owner parked it(tranny was going out).still has the window sticker on it.looks like this would be a lot of fun.

Those route 66 pix are awesome.

So the power tour was amazing!

Right up until today. Out of nowhere, my car shut off on I30 East about 30 miles outside of texas. No fire. Got towed to a local shop, tossed some parts at it, no dice.

Forced to rent a damn uhaul truck and trailer one way across the country. Imagine the bill!! I about cried when they told me.




Car ran AMAZING from VA to MI to TX and then BOOM absolutely NOTHING. Kinda pissed.

100% considering going LS at this point.

that sucks man. Did you have a GM shop manual with you? I try to keep one of those with me on trips like that to help troubleshoot if problems arise. It's no help to you now but may save headaches in the future. What parts did you throw at it?

Also, don't fall under the illusion that LS motors are invincible. They can have problems just like you're having. BIGMODS and I had problems, we were just lucky enough to be able to fix it on the spot. Also remember, engine swaps can really complicate troubleshooting when problems arise as well. With an engine swap, you have to question everything when you have a problem and there is no book that can walk you through troublehsooting step by step like the GM manual can on a "stock" car. I'm not saying LS swaps are bad, I'm just saying that they won't eliminate breakdowns and they can complicate troublehooting.

No spark
plugs tried s new coil a nd distributor. Ign module tested fine. Gave up at that point and got a uhaul. Will test more later and update but im not good with this troubleshooting stuff

it ended up being a damn FUSE!!

I cant believe that in my frenzy to chase down the problem I overlooked looking at the fuses! My frustration extends to the millionth power that the repair shop didnt think of it either!

But yep...my ECM fuse blew, and I cant find the problem, or make it happen again.

I'm not mad anymore....I just laugh at the situation and chalk it up as something to remember
