nice!

Thanks for the pic!

I have the exact same panel in he same color.

I'm curious too on how the fabric is attached...it seems it is almost stitched into the door panel or something. If anything I think you'd need to remove the carpeting material, trace that area, make a custom shaped overlay, cover it and attach it to the area?

I believe its dielectrically melted together, the door panel material - like the seats is junk '80s stuff. looks nice but sure don't last guess I could always change it to standard interior
what you suggest sounds like job for an upholstery guy and that isn't me.

You could take it to an upholstery shop and get an estimate to see what they can do?

I actually like the standard door panels better though IMHO but i gots what i gots haha

Re: The Prodigal son returns home, what to do with this now?

My vote is compressor seal..that or one of the valves is leaking!

Use some 409 and a terry cloth to clean up the arm rests..it comes out REALLy clean!

I need to take a pic of mine.

Are those the after cleaning pics?

I used the 409 multi purpose....... just a couple squirts and a terry cloth...too much and it just slides and can't scrub.

They were a bit cleaner than the pics clean, but looked brown / grungy on the grab handle area and came out like new. I use it on my Camry as well. I also do my steering weels....the nastiness.....

Re: The Prodigal son returns home, what to do with this now?

It looks like most of it should come off.

the shiny on the grab area should be dulled too, i think that is hand oil. I'm guessing its a bit sticky?

I recommend the white terry cloth from walmart (cheap) and the 409. i'm always shocked how clean the stuff gets everything!

I'll take some pics later when I get home.

At $3? a bottle, a rag and about 30 seconds of rubbing it's def worth a try!

I use the 409 multi purpose.

I use a mix of windex, dawn and soft plastic brush to clean the pull handles. Then rinse with warm water. Gets all the gunk out of the grain pattern.

Re: The Prodigal son returns home, what to do with this now?

It's amazing how much gross gunk accumulates.

Im pretty sure majority is human grease / oils... especially on the cars in junkyards etc.. that have been sitting. Some seem to OOZE nastiness in the sun.

Re: The Prodigal son returns home, what to do with this now?

well the AC is cooling again! I decided its time to start driving this car and decide how soon I want to swap the Energy vibration transmission mount that I thought would stop the old mounts separating which it did but I cannot stand the vibration much longer and the mounts I was using the the interlocking 4th gens - I thought they would fix the separating, apparently not - what are Y'all using?

She is all shiny now!

Re: The Prodigal son returns home, what to do with this now?

OK being the cheap bastard I am I decided to fix this dohickey for the pass front arm rest attachment. Being a packrat I had found enough of a right and left side - right side I had was good as is but pass was split in two so I needed something thin and flexible HA had it

yeah I'm too cheap to buy hawks repros so this what I had to work with

not 100% but better than nothing right?
so I cut some discs to size then scratched them up for better epoxy adhesion let this set overnight

and I took a pic of the test fit, it needs a little work on center hole and will fit fine

what Y'all think?? what? really? well I'm happy with it %+@# Y'all !!

I'd really love to see a little sub-forum, or a pinned thread under fabrication for 3D printing / Additive Manufacturing parts for our cars, so we can keep track of these items.

answered here not to clutter up the pics thread
Yes years go I had GM repaint this on late 90s (it was turning more purple than red) and shortly after getting it back i got a large bubble on left rear of spoiler and eventually it it did the usual - started splitting and new were no longer avail so I found a 91-92 Aero spoiler that I put on this car and included the hatch lid few years later my son was walking behind the car and slipped on some ice and he "slapped" the spoiler trying to keep his balance and that was the end of that one! so couple years ago I found a 90 L98 Formula which I also have a build going on on it and I basically swapped trunk lids and bought both repo spoilers - this car needed to have trunk lid resealed anyway
pretty happy with both spoilers now- this is 1990 turning 91-2

Not to downplay your picture, but this shows it off a little better lol. Wouldn’t be opposed to either spoiler.

I have to say I like the original 87 better but hate that it cost $1100 to get 2 repro spoilers
Not sure of any benefit the flat gives other than aesthetics

Re: The Prodigal son returns home, what to do with this now?

I like the older designed one better but the 91 / 92 I feel gives the car a more sporty / sassy look which i also like

Well its time this bird (which I have owned 31 years) sets off to a new home, Good Guy's is coming to Tx Motor Speedway this weekend and I'm hoping someone takes a shine to it. 383 700R4 1 le brakes some sensible suspension mods new AC I need to make room for another A-body and get back on my 90 Formula.

Performer intake? And all of this (intake and STG) fits under the factory hood with no rubbing?

Yeah, I want to know too!
That ST brace is not supposed to fit with the stock dual-snorkel setup - let alone a taller intake manifold.
How did you pull this off?
Is it that the back of the brace is supposed to mount below the cowl and yours is above?

And why can I actually see your power steering cap? I thought those were nearly completely obstructed by the AC compressor.

Re: The Prodigal son returns home, what to do with this now?

Well I have been wondering about the above and below North Tx Third Gen has monthly GTG and another car has same STB over a LS motor I began to I had mine upside down but then Edelbrock sticker would be too(maybe that's something I added? I don't remember) . the bar has been "adjusted"(read bent) little to clear air cleaner on pass side but with engine movement it may still. Now this did rub on some under hood bracing (you can see right above drivers intake tube and I have clearanced that now)that let the rust under the PC it went all over so I had it re coated. The Edelbrock intake is similar in height to the ZZ4 no this isnt prefect but I installed this 20-25 years ago

Re: The Prodigal son returns home, what to do with this now?

Thanks for the help. My current plan is to run a GMPP intake, which according to the only dimensional drawing I could find of it, it shorter that the assorted low rise eddy intakes but a 1/2" or more. So I'm hoping I'll be able to make all these pieces work together.

back of the brace fits under the hood like this like I said I have seen it both ways now

the AC belt is a bit long and near end of the adjustment is probably why you can see PS cap

should fit better if its shorter - let us know how that works out
