It's a polish. It shines and protects
It can run for around 40$ to 100$ depending on which stuff you want and how much.
It cannot be found at Pep boys. It can be found at http://www.zainobros.com and I believe http://www.ecklers.com

the Z5 product by Zaino is specifically for swirl marks. It works great... every coat of z5 you do will fill in the swirls a little more and so eventually you'll have none.
if you have a LOT of swirl marks you will need to use an ABRASIVE polish before you do the Zaino showcar polish process. A good one to use is made by 3m, product # 390009 You will need to use a buffer with a foam bonnet on the end. NOW this can be tricky so don't just fly at it. make sure when you're going over corners in the paint you don't sit there and burn the paint! I suggest practicing on mom's car a bit with this first
after you get the hang ALL of those swirls will be gone you'll have the nicest looking paint around.
ALSO most people get swirl marks from what they use to clean their car. do NOT use sponge's or cheap wash mits or anything of the sort. Go and buy a 100% cotton Wash Mit, believe they are made by Viking, go ask at some parts stores. If you can't find one of these go to Bath section of dept. store and get a wash-cloth sized one that's 100% cotton made in USA, this will work well too.
It's a start
