i believe i already asked this on another thread, but, did you buy that car in norfolk. 355/5 speed? I was looking at a car exactly like that in winter/spring and I almost bought it. My dad just could not justify driving down there for it. Richmond is not far from me at all. I live in the bethesda/rockville md area. you know where that is?

Yeah, just another slow V6.
I've heard of Rockville, but I've never been up there or know exactly where it's at.

So, since there are a number of us central virginians, why not get together sometime? I'd hate to get humilated with my ride, but id thoroughly enjoy a gathering of some thirdgens. Just a thought.. I'm sure as most of you are already aware, imports dominate most of this area. Damn side-ways engine drivers.

hmmm..that does sound kinda neat. As queer as it sounds, quite a few of us seem to live by the Wal Mart on Rt10, if we could get more than 3 people to show their cars, we might be on to something. Kind of like how the older folks used to do the Bills BarBQ thing. haha

Yes..I said queer. Hey, pull my finger.................
Anywho, anyone have any unique or fun ideas other than my vague suggestion of "meeting at the WalMart"? I wonder if it would be feasable to begin at say Richmond Dragway or something like that, VMP maybe, we all get times for our cars then caravan to a location that can hold us all and perhaps have a "show" or cookout or just git drunk. I'm not big on hanging out in the cold, so maybe a spring-thing may be cool? Dunno, I'm a Taurus and not very creative........
Eric/32 years old/acts like 22..haha

I'm in Mechanicsville. Where did you see me at?
It's my first car and I'm poor so what do you expect lol. It's gonna take a while but I'll eventually get it fixed up. It would be painted by now but I need to save for a new motor. I give it about a month before it dies. Don't blame me for the red neck looks of it, blame the previous owner lol.

It might have been Mechanicsville but i'm thinking Broad St or Staples mill near 295. I was driving a lowered red V8 S10. Your cars not that bad, trust me I've owned and driven alot worse lol. I have stories about body parts falling off on 64 and that was one of the nicer ones . Isn't the red neck look a requirement in Mechanicsville so your ok lol.

I don't think I have ever drove over there in my car. I have a feeling the motor is gonna go any time so I try to stay around Mechanicsville so if I break down it won't cost so much to tow it home lol. The previous owner lived over that way so it might of been them you saw. I did see a lowered 'red 94-'97 S10 with chrome wheels in Mechanicsville the other day though...
I dunno, right now I just hate the look of my car. When I bought it I thought the wheels looked cool. Then with the bigger tires on the back it makes it look like it's fast because of the stance it gives the car. I know my car is slow as hell but I didn't think I'd get people trying to race me because of it. Some guy in a Caprice ex cop car was trying to get me to race him, of course I didn't. He said he was weary about messing with my car because it looked fast.... That was a kick in the ***** because I doubt I could beat a stock Civic

This was back at the begining of the summer. My S10 is a 82 and kinda loud he looked when I passed him, so must have been the other guy.

I happend to look out my rearview at that moment and noticed something(s) bouncing down the interstate behind me. I thought I had run over something until all my guages pegged. (This was back when I thought changing the battery made me Mr Goodwrench.) I pull off the highway onto that Staples mill exit and parked it. Turns out the pulley on the alt sheared off and took the belt with it. Needless to say, the friend was not involved in putting the NEW alt on.

I'm in Chesterfield as well. Right off Ironbridge in the Beach Rd. area. Most of the hanging out we do in parking lots around here is either late night off broad st. where lots of "talking" takes place or over in the Victorian Square shopping center on Hull St. A good place to keep an eye on what's going on around the area is over at DragVa.com in the central forum

I think this question is kind of like asking if all black people know each other. But since there's SO few of our cars that actually look good around here, I'll ask....Tuesday around 4pm, any one of you drive a black/gold early/mid 80's Trans Am (sharp looking and SHINEY!) down/around Turner Road?
BTW, if anyone's around Metro Engines & Transmission (off Jeff Davis) in the next few days, my car is there getting it's "three seven three" put in. My 2 car agrage is half empty and I feel like I lost my dog or something.

Hate to dig up an old thread, but I figured it would be best to post up here.
I'm looking for someone or a place that will mount and balance some tires, a replacement for my stripped positive battery terminal, diagnose a ticking coming from my driver's side valve cover, and other bits and ends. I'm working too much right now to really bother with this stuff (Not to mention all my tools are loaned out), so if anyone feels up to the task let me know. I live at the southern end of chesterfield county, but work in henrico.
Just shoot me a PM and convince me that youre qualified, or suggest a good mechanic, and I'll start gathering the parts. Thanks.

MECHANICSVILLE
I'm in Mechanicsville, VA. Yes my car DOES have PRIMER on it. I believe it has something to do with the high quality GM paint used in the 80's and a lack of care from the previous owners. It has absolutely nothing to do with where I live. Contrary to popular belief it is NOT a county ordinance that all residents of Mechanicsville have primer on their vehicles.

I live in Deer Run. I never see any Third Gens around except the RS that has been sitting for sale on Bailey Bridge for 6 months. (6 ctl pos 1600.00 LOL) I am one of the "old guys" and we used to cruise Broad not Bill BBQ. There would be thousands of cars up and down broad from 8PM to 3AM Fridays and Saturdays. From the boulavard to Willow Lawn the parking lots were packed. No fights, no shootings, maybe a little weed and everyone got along. Freebird was the song of choice. camaros ruled, in fact my friend had the only 3rd down there, a brand new 1982.LOL

Anyone know whos Iroc Z that is in Deer Run. Looked like old school crager rims 70 front 50 rear. Had a cowl hood. Drove it like he was scared of it. I wnted him to get into it but he was going 50 in a 65 area and I didnt have time to spare. Looked good and sounded good, was driven like a yugo.
