new to me '85 iroc in Maryland
apparently i had a 92 firebird back in 2014 when i made an account here, but i dont remember ever actually picking up the car... i woulda been 21 so who knows what happened, HOWEVER * i bought this '85 iroc Z28 yesterday for $3200. she has 157k on the body, no rust!! the owner said his buddies son had a 327 block laying around and built him a motor for it - allegedly .030 over. looks like a later 80's LT1 350 to me but im gonna try to find a plate to ID later today.
he swapped the dizzy bc it wasnt starting. i think it's the fp, i asked if he tried starter fluid, he said no because something about the fuel lines were pressurized.... ??? idk i wasnt trying to fix it for him and raise the price (he was asking $3500, not really for sale i just did a door knock after noticing it was sitting for a few years). he's the original owner
i got it home and with a shot of starter fluid she fired right up lol
im doing a fp and relay in her for piece of mind. she needs tires too. hope to be more active this time vs when i made my account haha

welp she runs again. fuel pump
im glad i dropped the tank the correct way but man if i knew how awful that was going to be i would have cut an access hole for sure lol.
need to find the ID tag on the block to figure out what it is. im thinking L98 or LT1. any thoughts ?

Correct. He already said the motor was swapped though. The 327 wasn't available in 1985 either. The highest likelihood is, since it looks completely stock , is that it is a completely stock LB9. That being said, he also said he was going to run the numbers on the block, so we will just have to wait and see.

Congrats!!! For an 85 she looks really good. So glad to see someone keeping another one of these beautiful cars on the road. Original owner of an 86 Roc here.
