I'll be there either Friday night or Saturday during the day. I usually drag my wife along and tell her all about the cars that we're looking at. She isn't into cars as much as I am, but it's still fun to tell someone all about cars when they don't know much. Her favorites are the pre 50's with the $20,000 paint jobs and chrome everything, just as you walk in. I like just about everything, just wish my car was nice enough to show. Maybe in 5 years and 5 times the money I'll have it done.

its a fortune just to get the cars into the show.....
i have a great spot this year for anyone who remembers last year, should be right up in front just behind the riddler vehicles which was stated above. you'll also be able to walk around the whole car now rather then just a corner section like last year.

woa woa woa...autorama is at cobo hall and it is the 27,28 and 29th of this month so it is next weekend. just want to make sure no one gets confused and goes this weekend.
yeah it should be a good year, there are alot of nice custom cars registered. as far as what your asking pat, no i'm hoping i'm not running late like last year as you plan and plan but things always change. my interior is almost finished, my new wheels are on and the motor is halfway completed. just need to get the motor in, finish up the interior and i'm good to go.
sounds easy enough but until your doing it at 2 am with 7 hours left until setup you don't know the meaning of pressure. if my car doesn't work perfect like a street car should by setup time they will not let me in......then again if i can get some people to come down and help push the car i have a nice tape to play of the motor reving that i can hold out the window as we drive past the front gate!

lol.....drove her in right at the 10:00 marker as they were closing the gate. i made a 45 min drive from the engine shop to cobo in under 20 min. :eek
as far as getting in, oh it was a blast with people yelling left and right since i was late and the rest of the b.s that followed but i got in. good note though is she runs.....not the best running condition as i have very little tunning but i got her in the spot. now i'm off to put in my 24hrs of cleaning........oh'yeah fun stuff!!!

went there yesterday (sat), gotta say nice car jeff!! There were some insane rides out there, one of the more unusual (in concept anyways) was the 240sx it a 400hp TPI motor. Guy said it beat his buddies 12 sec vette:hail:. All the chrome and paint cars were sweet, amazing attention to detail, i'd never be able to do that!! GO today if haven't already!!

Your car looks GREAT Jeff,I must have missed ya,My son's and me went by your car a few times,I dont think you were around,Pictures dont do your car justice! Its sweet!
I saw that 240ZX with the 350TPI,nice swap, the engine bay seemed to have more room than ours!
Anyone see the 89 IROC convert.(black) towards the rear?It was a damn nice car too
All those cars and only 2 third gen's,thats sad!

I was there Saturday and seen Jeff's car there too (very nice), but no Jeff. He must have been off somewhere catching up on some much needed sleep. Overall, and as always, it was a very good show. Not only some of the nicest, wickedly custom cars you'll ever see, but I'm always reuniting with old friends when I go there and meeting lots of new ones.

sorry haven't replied in awhile....that was one hell of a month. glad that's over.....
well i was suppose to get the car there by 1 pm wednesday...didn't get the motor in the car until 8:30pm and didn't get the car there til 10:05 pm wednesday and then i was made to leave so i didn't have time to have it cleaned. spent all thursday and pretty much most of friday cleaning and i was no where near where i should have been so the car sat dirty. i wasn't happy about that.
because my motor was delayed i didn't have time to have the airride finished so that wasn't in like i had hoped. when the fiberglass for the interior was fitted it cracked and so i had to have the back pieces made up as quick as possibly just so something was in. i wanted to lower the car for the show but they wouldn't let me bring in my jack.............the list goes on. it was a fun show overall and alot of work but there were way to many things that went wrong this year.
there's always next year though.
