Re: Connecticut?
anybody else from around my neck of the woods? all i see around here nowadays are arrogant kids in hondas..im sorry, but im thinkin that the cars nowadays (and the crap music) just sucks. i mean, what the heck happened? when i was in high school, the cool kids had big blocks and metallica and gunsnroses and BLACK SABBATH t shirts!!!!! And remember the def leppard bandannas and roach clip with feathers that was required to be on the rear view mirror? huh? huh? i remember the first thirdgen i saw..it was brand new (probably an 82) and my next door neighbor had it..love at first sight. it was so different looking than anything else out there. he took me for a ride in it..we went to the beach by chick's in west haven..ill never forget that day. and i remember my moms good friend came over one day, with a brand spankin new 86 berlinetta! black on black..the digital dash was sooooo cool...she had just picked it up that day from dworkin chevrolet. then my first iroc z experience..it was at nolan field in ansonia, the guy was playing tennis with his friend it was red and it was soooo beautiful..i was awestruck. i remember the guys friend said "gee the kids really like this car dont they?" lol i ride by there most every day..and think of that car. ive been a camaro fan since wayback. thats what im talkin about..do the kids nowadays see a 2007 honda civic and say oh man! that car is friggin beautiful!!! does it stay with them and will they remember that moment 25 years later? anyway? i dont know where im going with this, but POST UP if you hear what im saying!! i miss being a kid i guess. but the funny thing is all i have to do is pop off my t tops and crank up some DOKKEN...or some DIO... and it takes me right back. to a different time...the 80s.

Re: Connecticut?
Enfield here. Left Eastern CT in 95...came back to western CT in 06. Bought my first 3rd gen (84 Z28 HO) in 95 in Wauregan CT. Flipped, rolled, totalled in Vermont 4 years later. 4 3rd gens later I'm on my last project. I'll chime in on the late 80's big hair post. I was there....1989 with my jean jacket and iron maiden backpatch...sh*t I can't believe I did that!!!!!! Oh well, young, dumb, and full of...........ignorance. I ended up buying the first car I fell in love with, a 91-92 Z28.

Firedawg, sounds good. Let me guess....Marines right? I had a few friends that did stints in Okinawa as Aviation Muntions / Ordinance Specialists (I think that's what they did.) Fancy way of saying "I put bombs and missles on jets!"

Re: Connecticut?
Smokefan,
What part of connecticut you from? I used to work in southwest CT, ridgefield/danbury area doing field work for a small (I mean a 4 person crew) company doing small business and homes for computer repair and networking. Great new guys, my car was finished last sunday and its ready to be picked up. This saturday evening driving down to richmond to pick it up and will be back in CT mid day wednesday. I heard from my uncle that the engine I picked out was very well kept up. He accidently spun the tires in his garage when testing the throttle response, rofl. I was also told the car has alot more power than the original engine that was in it. Let me know if any of you want to hang out next week. When I am not working overnight at shoprite in waterbury I am trying to find a few hang outs around the area.
Let me know, thanks

Re: Connecticut?
Even though i started out at full throttle, it's deep into July and i'm still not completely finished with the bird. Should be within 2 weeks, without factoring in all the paperwork. First place i want to check out is the wethersfield Hooters on the pike. I work at the Manchester hooters and our parking lot is only big enough for bikes. Anyone been to hooters this year? Any good?

Re: Connecticut?
The lot in Manchester is huge compared to the one on the Pike from what I remember. I work right near the one in Manchester and it looks like it's got a lot of parking out behind it. No? What I remember of the one on the Pike is that it wasn't that big.. but it's been awhile so I could be wrong.
I forget what it's like to drive my car it's been so long

Re: Connecticut?
Actually part of the parking lot in Manchester belongs to some weird office building in the back. In wethersfield they have parking all behind the jiffy lube. Trust me, i've been trying to get them to have car nights, but we're stuck with bikes. Went to the pike this last weekend, fri and sat and it sucked. Last year best buy was rediculiously sick. tis year nobody was there.
