Today....HO Ut-Oh!

Ok so, I replaced the FRONT struts on my Bird today....do do do...no biggy..was easy really.... So, i have always had a small leak in the anti-freeze department, so i went a-lookin...AH HA! You SNEAKY Little !@!@!@#$# YOU!.... Right at the waterpump....Yup....Hose had a RIP in it....Ok so...One might think....Self...Goto Kragen....Ok I call Kragen...
"No Sir" that is a 3 day special Order part....Ok NEXT!!!!.... I call Auto-Zone..."YES SIR" we have one waiting for you at the Counter... "Oh i Love these Guys."

So, I get cleaned up a bit, due to i think i looked, well lets just way...I am a very white person, covered in ALOT of Grease! You do the math? Ok....so i goto AutoZone...get the hose and some clamps and 2 gallons of 50/50 antifreeze..... i come home....Yes... i changed into raggy clothes AGAIN!. 45 mins later... I am cruzing down Antelope Road with the T-TOPS out Cranking some BOston on the cd player" YES" I Still Live in the 80's! I AM OLD ...OH WHAT a GREAT DAY! YES...

Now I NEED to replace the rear shocks.... I am about 1.5 Inches taller in the front than the rear those old Struts were SHOT WHAT A DIFFERENCE!!!!!

WHAT A difference new struts make i can't wait to get the Rear SHOCKS Replaced....

Does Sac County pick up used anti-freeze on recycle day? Hmmmmmm


Ok--- i had to SHARE... I don't get out much!

Sorry... I go find a rock to Hide Under till next weekend.... Obtw... Tomarrow is my BIRTHDAY! WEEEEEEEEE WHAT YA GONNA GET ME? HUH HUH?

What brand struts did you use?

p.s. - I don't know about Boston, but I've got an extensive 80's collection myself.

I went with Monroe Sensa-Tracs....Got them for Free from a guy at work..so . Yeah i love the 80s... the car, the music...weeeeee....
Yes, when i got this car..it was in dire need Replaced 3/4 of the Interior, added alot to it...Got a set of Gold gta rims ready to be redone at Presision Wheel, new tires and then a One time paint job from hell to top her off. I got 2 new windows to replace...have chips in the old ones... then i need to either find a rear window, or a rear window louver...some idiot looks like they tool sand paper the the glass? DOH! in one spot...makes me mad.. lol. Bought the car for 2k, got 4 k into her sofar... My Baby... Yup!


Yup I am prob' the Oldest Member on here @ 43 LOL... but... I love 3rd Gens...and for the most part the people who own them are allright too Oh well...age dun mean Nuffin!

Hope to catch up with you all sometime too.

I had a lot into my '88 Firebird after owning it for ~5 years.
Sold it for almost 5K in '02, w/135K or so. Was my first car. (see pic)
How many miles are on your '89?

Don't sweat the age, a lot of the guys posting here are older too, haha.
The kids just tend to post more. I'm inbetween.

That is a nice Bird.... you had there....

Mine has 140k on it....One Owner car...before me that is...Got all receipts on EVERYTHING. The Guy loved the car,and had a Father that had money so...it got fixed whan it had issues, but he was getting married so... Poof! I am not a tweeker by nature, but i have to admitt, I sure Enjoy working on this car...All my other Pontiacs were NEW when i got them...78TA,79TA and a 81 Turbo TA. It is nice too how many are out there and in nice shape too!...
You do nice work keeping your rides looking good... (Hand-Shake).

Age is only how ya feel! I must be 21 again ....

Ok, new front struts and rear shocks on Bird...OMG what a difference...it's like a new CAR .... WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

That was one change that needed to be made...the old rear shocks were so bad... Everytime i hit a bump, I stayed there! oh well NEW is GOOD .... Now Rims and Paint Job...and its CruZin time for da Bird................

Code - you had an 81 TA turbo? was it a V6?

Third gens are still the coolest looking F-bodies made.
