115mph?? Holy crap! That's high 11's right there!
Side question Harjeet - What did you pay for your '02 and how many miles are on it?
I've been browsing a couple 4th gens lately and was just curious.

Re: track weds 7/25
i paid too much for it. 24k's with 43k miles. plus additonal $$$ for the mods. could've gotten myself a z06 with the amount of $$$ i spend on this crap. I was weak and gave in. I was initially was going to buy an 02 sunset orange firehawk that they had on the lot which had 17k miles on it and was 4k's cheaper, but it was sold before i got there. so i settled with the ws6. that place was the only place that would finance me under my name so i said hell with it and bought it. i was tired of the slow azz thirdgen. hahahaha. Whats cool was that at the drag strip i totally missed shift second gear which made me let go of the gas in order to catch second and i still managed a 108mph 1/4. hahahaha the dark side is fun. u should join del. del i suggest getting a 02 z06, see many of them going for low 20k's with low miles

Yowsa! That's close to what they were going for new!
Well it appears you enjoy it, so I won't give you too much grief.
If I bought a 4th gen, it would be similar to TraviZ's situation, just a DD and for 10K or under.
I would never own a Corvette, I think too highly of myself.

HOLYSHIT!!!!!! my mom paid like $26K for her vette with about 45K miles. did you get it from a dealer? I remember in 00 my mom was looking at a 99 T/A and they where asking something like $29K. the salesmen was cool, he told us the guy traded it in for a vette and they just gave him to much on trade.

His ws6 is sweet though, too bad i only got to drive it up at the high alt. I wouldn't have paid that much but like he said, it's in his name. I would love a 98-02 ws6/camaro but, I need 5 seats. The Audi is good for me. That offer to buy your supra got you thinking huh Del?

Re: track weds 7/25
You betcha Steve. He wants to look at it again this week, so we'll see.
What do C5 ZO6's go for and trap? Aren't they about mid 12's, similar mph's?
Well Harjeet has potential for 11's with probably ~$30K invested, so hopefully he's close to those #'s in comparison with a ZO6 if that's any consolation.

Re: track weds 7/25
well so far i have beating 3 c5 z06. an 01 z06 with long tubes, full exaust and tune and he was trapping 111mph to my 115mph. my friends 02 z06 with longtubes, tune, dynoed 370rwhp and he was hittn high 12's@ 112mph with a badly slipping clutch and a stock 04 z06 on the streets pulled 2 1/2 car length by 135 mph from a 55mph roll z06 had a 3/4 car jump on me..
----------
i've heard of stock c5 z06 running mid 12's in between 112-117mph depending on the driver.

Re: track weds 7/25
Good, so my hypothetical situation is fairly accurate.
Not everybody wants to drive a 'vette, so for about 30K, you have the same power, if not more than one of the higher powered ones ever made.
Almost as good as doing it in a 3rd gen for a lot less, haha.

also weight plays a big issue on performance my friends stock 02 z06 weight in approx 3050lb's compared to my estimated 3600-3700 boat. i might sell my 4th gen seats and get some nice sparco racing seats, but its just a thought
