I might be making a career move to the Sacramento area, Elk Grove to be exact. Nothing is set in stone, I haven't even interviewed yet, but if they like me and the income level is where I want it to be, then I will need a place to live, probably just temporarily but you never know.

Sub-question: I know in Reno we have certain rough areas that by the mere name alone make you think "ghetto".. heh. I am sure Sacramento does on an even larger scale. So what areas should I avoid? Where are some decent, affordable places to look for housing? Thanks.

You live near where we last met up, somewhere around Citrus Heights/Greenback, right? I could handle that. My friend Trevor told me to avoid areas such as Rio Linda, Oak Park, North Highlands, anything south of Folsom Blvd until you get to Elk Grove, and I think that's about it.

 

Those areas about cover it, but as with anywhere, there are "ghetto" areas in "almost" every area.

Yeah, I own a house in a quiet neighborhood in Citrus Heights, off Greenback.

Hey I live on the edge of North Highlands right by Elkhorn and antelope, it isn’t that bad

The Biggest thing is walk the neighborhood at night, a lot of sac looks ok in the afternoon, but really bad at 1 am.
