98-02 3.42 10 bolt housing/axles 4 sale
sup guys i just finished up my rear end. as many of u guys know i busted my rear end. At first i thought my whole ring gear came loose, but when i took out my differential cover my ring and pinion gear were still intack and in great shape ( no knicks or missing teeths). in fact 4 bolts heads that screws into the ring gear itself were sheared off. which caused my drivetrain noise. Im selling this rear complete minus the backing plates and an axle vent tube and differential cover since the old cover has a hole in it from the bolt heads. free pick up only. i'll try to take some pics of it. from the looks of it, you could probably get away by just replacing the posi unit, but i suggest taking the rear to rearend specialties in santa clara. they do awesome work.

Is that the housing and the axle? Looks clean.
What's a 3.42 posi unit run. Something like 350 or so, right? I could put my drums on there, right?

mike, those pics are my moser 9 inch. well on my 10 bolt both ring and pinion gears are in great shape. no knicks or missing teeth on any of them. Only thing that u probably need is the carrier. 4 bolts on the carrier has been sheared off, which busted a hole in my differential cover. i saw some rebuilt eaton on ebay going for 200 bucks. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/REBUI...QQcmdZViewItem
i also recommend to replaces the axle bearings and seals, since they were in bad shape to begin with. like i said if u serious about buying this rear, take it to the differential shop before u buy it. i'll roll with ya. btw i dunno if they will fit ur drum brakes, u might have to convert to rear disc brake setup and u need to buy soem backing plates for the 10 bolt since i reused my stockers

Yep... Brett is right. That Moser does look nice.
With the additional rebuild concerns, drum issues, and extra 2 inch width I'll have to pass.
The search continues... (timing isn't right either)
