I thought I'd post a link to the group Steve (87tpi) made awhile ago for those in Nor-Cal who are on the 'ol Myspace and want to network on there as well.
im in, but i dont actually have a third gen yet. =(
i really want one though.
end of summer im buying one.
18th birthday present to myself, woohoo!
(and im paying for every dime of it myself, no help from mommy and daddy)
EDIT: scratch that! i bought my 89 iroc 3 days ago, woot woot!
350 w/ aluminium heads, cam, smog legal headers, freeflow cat, and borla exhaust.
and then to get it moving its got a 6 SPEED MANUAL! along with a dual friction centerforce clutch.
and i bought it (like i said) 2 days before my 18th birthday, for 3 grand.

wow thats nice, did you have to get a 6 speed and put it in or was it already in?
that was the selling point for me, it was already installed.
all the ad said was "350 6 speed" and since i had done my research i knew that was at least 4 grand i WOULDNT have to spend later, so i snatched it up.
all the other go fast parts were just gravy. i calculated it all with the receipts he had and whatnot, and (conservatively) its got at least 7 grand worth of parts in it. not including the cost of the car itself.
i still dont have it street legal because im a noob and havent been able to figure out what i need until recently, but now i know it just needs new injectors and a distributor, which after the regular tune up and all the fluid changes, will put me just under 500 dollars into it. HELL yea!
oh and i think failed to mention earlier, its also got a 9 bolt with professionally installed 3.73's. and 3 chips: stock, hyperjunk, and custom burnt race chip. and its got a high performance rebuild with high *** compression. i was getting 170 PSI on the compression check i just did. i think he said it was 10.5:1.
damn, well thats awsome. i was excited when i found out mine had a b&m already installed, and its only a 305 lol.

haha. yours was probably in a whole lot better condition than mine though.
the previous owner sure knew what he was buying, but he had no CLUE what he was doing. he took horrible car of that car. the interior is shot, and the whole drivetrain hasnt been well maintained. but, once again, it got me a great deal on the car so i dont care haha.
yeah, you gotta make sacrifices sometimes :P and me for one? i would take a good engine over a good interior any day. any one can fix up an interior, engines are a bit more complicated than cosmetics lol

this is true. But if you have a 350 they're not too expensive. Interiors nickel and dime you to death. But it's whatever i'm not doing the interior for a few years. I couldn't care much less about cosmetics.

I will try to make it but it all depends on if my car decided to give me any more hassle. Hopefully that will be the last I have to do but you know how it it with 20 year old cars. Especially when some one has driven the piss out of them.
