CF Grill
In case you guys missed this thread (https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/fabr...28-grille.html), A fellow TGO member made a nice looking CF grille for our camaros. The attention to it created a sort of drama to have a one time batch made. Thought I would share the news for anyone that may be interested here. I am #3 on the list. I think Mr.IrocZ is going to be in on this as well. The member wants $200 for each one made and we need at least 5 people committed to purchase.

Re: CF Grill
Sorry Travis, carbon fiber is for Imports.
Looks cool, but doesn't fit the look of the car. Maybe it'll look diff in person

Re: CF Grill
I think you would need some more CF to compliment it. Maybe carbon fiber back hatch or something?? Were you thinking about doing anything like that?

Re: CF Grill
I believe that finish you posted is in a gelcoat. Gelcoat gives the additional shine.

Re: CF Grill
If you had it gelcoated. I could give it the undercover89tbi stamp of approval for usage on all third gen camaro's. But until that time it is poopy.

For the record I own the absolute most american, most muscle car in history of mankind. The 68-70 Dodge Charger.

???
Have yet to sell a car on eBay, I was thinking more like a CNC ported intake manifold, but go ahead and keep talking about stuff you don't know about
Maybe I should have got some eBay fees from those door panels...

Re: CF Grill
Carbon fiber valve covers $350/pair, was thinking about getting a pair or getting some "Pontiac" ones from SDPC.

Re: CF Grill
Those carbon covers look like the ones scooter perf. sells. Forgot brand name
Carbon covers is not a craze. I have had the sbc ones for a couple years now. I have some bbc ones too, those are k&n but they warped the flanges. Carbon covers have always been expensive so you hardly see them. I have intercoolers with carbon tanks, talk about rare.

Re: CF Grill
Fabricated still owns stamped any day! but carbon fiber is just taking it one step farther. The **** looks cool and is functional if you consider the weight savings.

Re: CF Grill
weight may not be a big deal in these cases but in the end is it a nice show piece as well and we all know we like to have pretty engines.

Re: CF Grill
Weight is definitely an issue (especially if you have a porky convertible!) once you start being a weight weenie. A few grams here and there can add up to a considerable weight savings. Why lug around extra weight if you don't need to?

Re: CF Grill
2.7ounces each lug nut equates to a savings of 4.725 "rotating mass" lbs!
Yea man, almost lost 5lbs dropping a lug nut at each corner!

Re: CF Grill
The price isnt bad considering the costs of carbon fiber itself, this is a full CF build not an overlay. then the cost for the mans time to build these himself
