Back from the dead
Hey guys!
Been a long time, just wanted to stop by say Hi!. Looks like from a quick perusal we've got several new members, which is always great to see.
As Traviz, OUTATIME and 87tpi may remember, I got out of 4 wheels and have been on 2 for the last several years but the wife has finally convinced me to sell my R1 and come back to the F-body world, and I need some help.
I'm looking at getting at picking up a WS6 from out of state, and most of the "nicer" ones I've looked at have longtubes, no cats, block offs, large cams etc.
I remembered that some of you guys had trusted smog techs you took your third/fourth gens to and because I've been out of it for so long, I was hoping some of you might be willing help. I would immensely appreciate it. Also, please don't reply here, just PM me and thanks up front to anyone willing to help out an old, lost, third gen brother.

Hey Travis,
You're not kidding! Everything I've found has something done to it, hell there is a guy right now with an 02 WS6 in Sacramento, he brought it from out of state and is now trying to get it sold back out of the state. I know it can be done, I hear about it occasionally, and people on LS1tech hint at it, but short of going out to all of the meets again, (which means I'd be buying one and then paying to put temp reg on it until I could find someone) I just don't want to take that risk until I know what my options are, ya know?

Hey there John, glad you made your way back.
Yeah, if you're looking for a 3rd/4th gen, it may take time & $ to find one that is clean and non-smog modified, but they are out there. Could also just buy a modified one and make it smog-legal-ish.
You might try the norcal-lsx forums if looking for other means.

Re: Back from the dead
Thanks guys, I'd prefer to get one with mods and just find a place that will pass it, not worried about paying a little extra if you know what I mean
What do you want to know? Basics are, don't buy a 1000 as your first bike, take the MSF course(its worth every penny) get something old so you don't cry when you lay it down, and get 600cc or less to start. Longtime member of the R1-forum as well and my post count is quite a bit higher over there
