Lincoln and rock baby. We should organize something for the third geners in wichita some day.
I'm all for that idea. I'm up in Valley Center over the hill from 81 Speedway. I just need to wire up my electric water pump amd get my new seats and carpet finished up, oh yeah and get my swingouts installed on my door bars.

Sweet, someone else around here. I saw a mid 80's rs the other day while I was over there, had AR rims on it and red in color. over the summer we should plan a gettogether. I saw that you had a t56; was the car originaly a 700 or t-5?

There's a dozen of us FBody guys that drive together, we're best friends. If you feel like a loner over there, come and hang with our group. As for 3rd Gen's around here, all of them are about worthless/crap... sadly, I have the rap sheet around here that if it's a decent looking 3rd Gen, I get the phone calls asking if it's my new car(I've owned four 3rd Gen's in last 4 years).
Car was a factory L98 = 700r4, which = T56 swap, and now means = 400hp 6spd car!
I know what you mean, there are very few nice ones here as well. most here are beat to hell and not taken care of. How hard of a swap was the t56? I have heard you need to swap flywheels out on 2 piece rear main blocks for it to work if you have an early model third gen.

I just need to square away my transmission issues real quicklike and we'll all us wichita boys meet up.
Topeka here. Alright guys its gettin spring time and that means local cruise night on Saturdays will be starting up soon. I say we arrange something for around the end of april or 1st of may to all meet up at one of the Topeka Sat Night cruise nights. Anybody interested?
Hey sorry for not being online in a while. finally got my camaro on the road. Still need to put the new tranny i got and putting a stage 2 shift kit in it. using trans go shift kit with a hurst shifter. Dual exhaust that has turbo mufflers side exit lil clearance till i fill up my air shocks got around 2 1/2 to 3inches of room. I have some lil minor problems in the exhaust to redo but for now i can drive it ;D.
Having forgotten this thread, I posted the following above: Completing my move to Lawrence within days. Any thirdgenners in the vicinity? My intention is to hit the car shows around about, so if you see a silver 85 IROC, I hope you'll stop to chat and show me your ride.

Spent the night in Hays a couple of years ago when the tranny in the Bonneville family car suffered a sudden and catastrophic failure westbound on I-70 at Victoria (only had 1st gear, didn't even have reverse). My mom drove down from Holdrege, NE, and "rescued" us.

I live in Tonganoxie which is about 15 minutes from Lawrence. I drive my Bird into Lawrence sometimes on Friday or Saturday nights to do some cruising. I will keep a lookout for your car. Mine is in my sig if you see me wave me down.
Just a note: Set'em Up Jacks, a restaurant in Lawrence, has a get-together on the first Saturday of the month starting around five. Kief's is sponsoring another on June 28th, again starting at five. Both are free, I believe. I'm planning on attending, so if you show, stop and say hello.
By the way, 19Stroked, I drove through Tonganoxie on the way back from the Legends. I blinked, so I think I missed part of it .

Cool thanks for posting about that. I will have to try and get over there for this. One of my car clubs is having a cruise at Sonic in Lenexa that morning but I should be back in time to swing by Lawrence.
Yeah its a good thing Tongie has grown as much as it has or you would have missed the whole thing when you blinked.

Topeka here, all of us within reasonable distance need to start going to the local cruise night on saturdays here in topeka. I'm the only 3rd Gen there on regular basis. Hit me up for info. As far as a kit for auto to manual swap....I got everything for mine right here on thirdgen.org from the message boards.
I wish we could but thanks to the Army I won't be going to any shows for another five months or so. My car isn't ready to be in the show yet but it's always great to be around other enthusiasts to get ideas and hints.
