Just got back from the track w/ my best to date

Well great weather helped me out a lot tonight, but the track was packed, so I only got one run in.
2.08 60'
8.6 1/8
84.92 1/8 mph
13.21 1/4
107.1 mph.
The only thing I have changed on the car:
fan mod to allow both fans to come on at 160
new distributer cap/rotor
fiddled with the fpr

I wanted to break into the 12's, and might have had I got a few more runs. Maybe next time.
my best last time at the track was 2.3 60', 13.6@104 in 95degree/high humidity.

Which Trick Flows are you running. If they're the 23* then those are the best mph #s I've seen with that kind of setup.
I know how you feel about getting into the 12s. I've been at 13.1 it seems forever now.

Yeah, they are trick-flow 23' 64cc 2.02 1.6 heads. The weather was great, which helped some, and my launches are getting better. It has 3.23 posi gears, and a completely stock(and slightly slipping) 7004r tranny. I'm currently working on making the car lighter, and saving up for a t56, then gears, and a functional ram air hood, so my mph should be even better next summer.

If you are still running the stock convertor that may be holding you out of the 12's. May want to think about a 2600-2800 stall with that setup. Should get you in the 12's.

I have thought of that a lot, but it seems pointless to spend that much money when I am saving for a 6 speed.

I know i am setting myself up for a flaming, i personally run a th350 but in talking with all the 4thgen guys at my track, they all claim that the people who always have problems with their 10 and 9 bolt rearends are the guys running fast times with t-56's. i honestly dont understand how his would hold up any better cuz he was running a 4400 stall but still, just beware. manuals are harded to be consistant with too, but definately funner

Its cause most people with a stick just dump the clutch with slicks (We've all seen those LS1 guys). That is a big shock to the driveline compared to a auto with a big converter, cause it won't hit like that even with a high stall.

Good point. Dropping the clutch at 4000rpm, w/450hp or so would tear the **** out of anything but a built 12bolt, or 9in. The bad thing is, when the rearend breaks, it often takes the t56 with it.
