New best time, plus, will a new TA help?

Finally got into the 11s, 11.86 @ 124 mph at Tucson's SIR. I still have the stock 10 bolt rear and stock T-5. Car weighed in at 3,145 lbs. Will a Spohn Torque arm help much with 60' times? I am still using stock TA. Thanks!

Stock 10 bolt rear end, F-body boxed LCAs, Spohn relocation brackets for LCAs, F-body panhard bar, air bag on pass side, tires are Hoosier QT Pros at 15 psi, and wimpy stock TA.

What is your launch technique? Are your tires old? You should be able to get off the line a little quicker than that.

At the line I rev limit to about 3,800-4,000 and dump the clutch. I have a launch circuit where I can set my launch rpm. Any more rpm and I just spin. Best traction occurs when the track uses the compound. Last two outing were TnT and they did not use the compound. I have run some 1.7s 60s before in Phoenix. Tires are 4 years old with good tread still since I don't race much, does the rubber change over time w/o use?

At the track, I remove single muffler and just use the Mufflex y-pipe (4" outlet), loud but fun! On the street, I use a 4" to 3" adapter to a single 3" Dynamax Bullet muffler. No cats, no smog.

NOS setup is Edelbrock w/ 50, 75 & 100 HP jets. I am using the 75 HP set.

ET and MPH are corrected. Actual speed at track was 119.36. Tucson is at 3,100 ft elevation. Race weight is 3,345. I go about 200 lbs (chubby)!!

Is the Spohn TA or Random Tech TA best? Pinion adj?

I assume slicks? And they are 4 years old - that could be part of it. Perhaps they dried out and have become hard.

great times, but the "corrected" part makes more sense. I also would say that the tires get worse over time. MT tech says the same thing.

good luck with the t-5 and 10 bolt. the fastest i got the t-5 to was 114.8mph 1/4. RIP

I think a torque arm will help you out a lot. I have the random tech unit and my best 60ft is a 1.70. I set the pinion angle at -2ş. Now keep in mind my car is an automatic with a 3200 stall vig, but I am also running stock 91 l98 heads.

yeah the jegster tq arm. I used to have it until I switched to a 9 inch. I would have modified it but spohn could get me a new one quicker. Anyhow, it is considerably shorter in that it doesn't mount to the trans anymore. it has a plate that you bolt into the driveshaft tunnel. IMO, what makes it louder is that the arm has female end and the mating male end mounts to the plate I just mentioned, no poly bushing. The noise is pretty minimal being most of us have at least cat backs which drown it out. You'll probably never notice it. Do a search, I'm sure people bickered back and forth about it. Feel free to email me further if you want. all in all recommended part. I think 87_ta has one is is lifting the fronts among others.

Ohh, my limited experience is good tires make the most difference as long as it doesn't wheel hop or something like that. Make sure those are good then move up to a new arm if needed. I didnt see if you were launching off the bottle? does the juice come on when you dump the clutch??
