Going to the track if it does not rain.

Going this Friday. I havent been there in like two months. Last time out the car went 11.60 @ 118, with a 1.54 60'. Well I bit the bullet, and took out the P/S pump, and switched to a manual box. Tommorrow its front end align time, and Pa. inspection. Am I out of line expecting to shave a tenth off? We'll see.

Yes! the PA. inspection will do nothing for you! J/K.

You will see a gain from it, did you go s10 box or flaming river?
I would say a 10th is high, but very possible..
Let us know how it goes, what track? Pittsburgh raceway!

I went with the S-10 box. If I get to go, I will be at Numidia. LOL, yes that sticker on the windshield is unneeded weight.

Unless of course, your car is sitting in the garage, needing an alignment, and an inspection, then its beautiful, with good air.

by taking off the ps pump belt, i droped .1 and gained 1mph...these were on back to back runs. then, i swapped the manual box in and took out the pump and whatnot, dropped about 25lbs from that...so all in all, that's approximately .125 that i dropped off the et.

Actually it was real good air.

Elevation: 970 ft

Bar: 29.30

Temp: 54.7

Hum: 60

The S/R will most likely get sold, either complete, with the 58mm T/B, or seperated, to recover the cost of the new manifold, and cam change.
I have two problems, working together, the S/R, and a 114* LSA cam.

That TPIS cam is working real good for you, I see?

Goodluck tonite. And yep the cam works well.Especially for not intended to be a carb cam.Wonder if would work better at 108 or 106 lsa instead of 112.Good thing is my stock brakes and all work perfect,no vacuum issues.

Hey thanks! I just got finished putting the skinnies on the car, and loading it up with my jack, and slicks etc. Probably will head out in about an hour.

I emailed TPIS, to see about that cam you are running. I asked if it is available with a .900 base cut, as my engine is "tight' inside. If they are too crazy with the price, maybe Comp can custom grind me one. Just got the intake today. Its still down the parts store, and I'll pick it up next week, as I owe $100.00 on it yet.

I will try to get some vids up tommorrow, if I have no problems.

No new best.

No new best, but still had fun. Before arriving at track, a bank clock read 94 degrees. No weather info on the time slips. Ran the car 8 runs. My 60' were off almost 2 tenths, as the track was greasy, with my best of 1.678. Everyone I spoke to were off approx. 2-3 tenths, and 2-3 MPH, due to the heat. My manual steering conversion probably helped, but last night was not a good night to tell. My best run was 11.78@115. Floorguy was watching every run, and said I was spinning in second gear. He suggested we pull the pan, and change the spring in the 1-2 accumulator, to soften it up a bit. I'll try that before next time out. I have a video of an 11.88@115 run. Please excuse the angle, as my wife was learning to use my daughters new digital camera. Not making any excuses, as it was better than a GOOD day at work.

Video - 11.88@115 run
