Wondering what a full exhaust would do for this car?

Ok guys I know its typical but its bugging me. The car is a 1991 LB9 auto Formula. With a CAI, underdrive pullies, free mods, air foil, and msd tune up stuff it ran

60' 2.318
1/8 10.111
1/4 15.696
MPH 87.37

The next time it hits the track it will have hooker 2055's, a high flow magnaflow cat, and a 3 inch edelbrock catback.

From what I understand this car had the baby stock size piping (2 1/4) and just wondering if the exhaust will get me a 14.99? I know it probably will not but I just figured I would ask.

Car should pick up with full exhaust. stock piping is pretty bad stuff. I think it will go bottom 15's (roughly .3-4 gain at best) but your 60 foots are bad so thats where you need to work on to hit 14's. That car will go 14's with a torque converter and sticky tires.

Yeah my 60 foot is bad what else can I do because the car does not spin, it kinda bites and bogs.

Is the car in a good state of tune? i.e. - plugs, wires, fuel filter, healthy fuel pump, etc.

Have you advanced the timing any from stock? That may help if everything else is fine.

Everything is new tune up wise and many sensors have been changed. I run 8 degrees advance timing on premium fuel. It does idle a little funny so I am trying to figure that out, but I need to test my fuel pump.

8 degrees advance is too much for a stock tbi, ever datalogged it to see how much knock counts you're getting?

I'd go with a S10 stall as well, that'll be 2200 stall for cheap through autozone. 1998 S10, 4.3L, 2wd stock stall replacement.

Re: Wondering what a full exhaust would do for this car?

i believe he has a LB9 which is TPI. Then 8 degrees base wouldnt be bad at all.

if it hooks and bogs, then it wants abit more gear and stall for sure. Try brake stalling the car with the stock converter as high as you can go, then let it rip. Hopefully it will still hook well and may cut that 60 down alittle

check your IAC sensor in your throttlebody and clean that out. Maybe one reason it idles funny. If everything else is new and the thing is in good state of tune, thats about all your gonna get out of that car without mods

Its LB9 and I did brake stall it as high as possible, but it should have more power with the exhaust, it might help.
