Good weekend again

Giving serious thoughts of doing the smaller engine for my junk and just swapping the big one in for play dates. Racing a freinds 67' maro the rest of the season, he said if i had no problems taking the money we've won to date and using some for tires it was mine to keep the rest of the year....no problemo!!!

Saturday got down to the semi finals, nothing special there but that round has been my nemisis for years and i paired with a long time freind of mine in his duster, i told him i'll kill him on the tree so you better hope your junk runs a number LOL!! (we bicker all weekend like that, just how it is with us) so we take off, get to the 1000' and neither of us wanted it, we were staring eachother down dropping noses on each other and last second i stood on it but it was'nt enough, he got the stripe by .0033 but i did tree his azz so i had to use that to rib him back in the pits...he went on to win the class, and our track has a run off between Pro/Super Pro for the big money...essentially you win your class, that's just the semi finals. He paired up with a dragster, .007 and peddling against a dragster at the stripe for the win!!!!!

Yesterday, sunday, we were on a tear again and the same guy i lost to in the semi's saturday and i kept arguing which one of us was going to get the wally trophey since it was a national dragster challenge event, we did our jobs and got paired up in the finals, we flipped a coin wince we both preferred the left lane, he won the toss...pit lane roll out is different so i told him to lemme stage completely before he rolled in. I tripped the stage lights, bumped 3 times deeper and set the tbrake, he stages, lights come down and it felt like a good light...the kind where ya hold your breath until you see a green light, so i knew we were on it, get to the end and he caught me/peddled me, i got the stripe by .01 but broke out by .02 due to my pathetic light. Same guy doubled up the win in Pro both days so it made losing not so bad since he's part of our group. He goes back up for the run off against another dragster, asks the dragster guy if he wanted to split the purse (just something everybody asks to be fair) and the dragster guy just smugged him off and said no way.....well, my buddy put a .003 on him at the tree (dragster cut a .050 LOL) and once again, buddy was peddling against a dragster and WON!!! So he walked away with a nice stash of money, wally trophy yesterday, and doubling up aginst 2 dragsters LOL!!

So looking forward to finishing the year out in the borrow car i'm running, so nice to run a car i am back killing the tree in since the front end stays on the ground, and the car flat out works...am going to ask him about putting a steeper gear in so i can shallow stage, it's just hard having to bump in twice in one lane and 3-4 times in the other...ya just dont know EXACTLY where your at.

Re: Good weekend again

I know it's the track and was really hoping at the NHRA divisional we had a few weeks ago NHRA guys woulda fixed it like they always have in the past, but they never once got the big wheel out to check and set roll out Many of the other racers have the same issues with the right lane being slower on the tree and ET as well, so we're heading out and just pound that lane this weekend until i find my spot and can figure out how much to change the dial if i'm chipped to that lane.

our track is the ONLY place i have this issue...but i know it, just need to adjust for it with this new car, we pretty much got'r figured out, just needs some fine tuning is all.

AMEN!!!!! It does'nt happen that often, but when it does it's a beautiful thing LOL!! I know both days when we watched the run offs we all held our breath because his lights looked tiiiiiiiiight, which they were, but once it was green we could take a breath until the stripe racing started, and to hear a door car almost 3 seconds slower peddling a digger...fricken priceless!!!!!!! esspecially on sunday when the snooty, pre-madonna S/P azzole did'nt wanna split. and then to get smacked down the way he did was awesome!!!

Worst part we go back and forth at eachother ALL the time, after this weekend i need a different angle to get to him LOL!! Already told him to "savor the flavor today baby, this is the only time your going to have this many people around ya that act like they like you, cuz tomorrow your just an a..hole again" now that sounds brutal to read, but it's one of those deals where that's our brand of humor with eachother and it gets nothing but more obnoxious as the beers flow and folks come from pits abroad to listen to the banter Poor guy races a POS Slopar product so he's used to just getting ragged on by everybody
