anyone here running x275?
some local racers are getting together to try to get our local track to host x275 race class.
now it wont be as fast of a class as it is in most other places but it still looks like a ton of fun. there figuring the class will start out with cars in the 6 second range and probably never get faster then mid 5's
if any of u guys run this class what combos are u using, is it worth the trouble of trying to run this class ??
im thinking if all goes how these guys are saying it is my tt iroc could be a competitve car for now atleast till guys start trying to step it up.
id have to ditch the nitrous unfortunatly but i know i could make the power back with a head and turbo swap
the onyl thing thats really getting me is rear gear. i dont know how well the turbos will respond with say a 4:56 gear versus my 3:23's.
are u turbo guys seting up to cross the 1/8th at max rpm or are u going just high enough to balance spool up and et.

radialtireking was running x275 for awhile, but has now switched over to ultimate street, if im not mistaken. x275 is well out of hand nowadays, you've gotta have some serious money to run with those guys at this point. i have 275s on my car but im over a full second off the pace. lol
gear ratio selection on these type cars has more to do with getting the car down the track than it does rpms through the traps.

we dont ever expect the x275 to get to out of hand here, theres not a whole lot of cars here out in utah.
its expected that most of the et series guys will just switch to a 275 tire if the payout is bigger then the class they are in now
general consensus is that the class would start out here in the mid 6 sec range and slowly get faster prolly never going below the mid 5 sec range maybe it wil get into the lower 5's but everyone around here doubts that it will get that fast
the track is 5,500 ft above seal level so cars will deff be slower but i do see a huge advantage going to the turbo guys

Re: anyone here running x275?
need to go ahead and set limits now. the turbos/blowers they are running in x275 are just about impossible to keep out of the 4's. even at heavy weight.
i would shoot a good bit smaller than what they are running, instead of trying to pile weight on to slow them down. that doesnt work all that well and makes things more dangerous.

im going to keep my eye on what goes on with the class if they manage to get the track to run it. if they can keep it in the mid 5 to low low 6 second range im pretty sure ill be in

If you are using the actual x275 rules, it will get out of hand quickly. Even ultra street and rs275 cars are in the 5.teens and 20s with limited rules....

You need a blower...the turbos are sweet but procharger power makes it easy!! Traction...different story.

Re: anyone here running x275?
I love out here, they said "hey, let's do a 8.5 tire class that can be competitive to those who do not have bulging bank accounts..."
Then all the outlaw 10.5 guys put 8.5s on and still screwed it up.

Re: anyone here running x275?
I run 275 events within the state area's of KS. My car is x275 legal but have never attended a national event. Based on the times I'd qulaify at each event but probably would be a first round duck. Locally, I'm fairly competetive.

Re: anyone here running x275?
Agreed. A few years ago X275 was supposed to be a low 5 second class. Now a local ultra street car has just ran a 5.07 @ 137 with a way more limited set of rules. Now I gotta get to work on my car and step it up for next season.
