YUP, Another- What Will I Run?

Sitting at work and bored! Even though I have things to do. lol

Here is my list of mods currently in my car. There is no track in Long Island anymore. So chances are ill never know what it runs like this. I had a 434 in the car but It kinda went pop on me. So the original mouse is back in there. Ive street raced alot with this combo, mainly short races off of stop lights. And it does really good. And i know if it goes over an 1/8th. Ill start getting toasted by LS1 cars and other newer tech. But its fun killing high dollar stuff off a stop light by 3-4 cars. They get PISSED!! anyways..

89 LB9
Crane 2032 cam
Crane gold 1.6rr's
SLP runners, Ported plenum, Air foil
24Pd injectors with FMU
Procharger P1SC @ 9Pd's.
Freddy Brown 700R4
2400 Pro torque Converter
Eaton Posi 373.
Edelcrap shorty headers and Ypipe
Borla 3" catback
UMI, SFC's, PH bar, LCA's, Wonderbar, UMI TA, and whatever else I cant think of.
new Moog springs
KYB struts n shocks
MSD 6BTM + timing retard
All ignition MSD
255 Walbro fuel pump + Prochargers inline booster pump

Ill add what I dont remember, as I think of it.
Im guessing high 12's low 13's?? IDK, what do you pros think?

IMO too many variables, I would just run it and see what you run. What tires are on it and do you hook up?

Cant run it. No track. Street tires. Summitomo's right now. Going to be getting BFG Sport Comp 2's soon 255 50 rear, 245 50 front.
This car is setup like a cruiser. And without a track I dont think DR's would be good for the type of driving I do. I like the handling of the car with the tight suspenion.

Hm hard to say, so an 89 LB9 should have run high 14's/low 15's stock, I would say with your mods N/A and gearing it should have gone low 14's or maybe high 13's, then with the blower I would drop another second off of that. That would be if you can hook up, if you can't hook up, start adding time back onto that ET.

Racing at the track is entirely different, I remember racing my L98 car the first time thinking it would be in the low 14's/high 13's and running a 14.9 lol.

Sounds like you have a fun car.

If you are getting more powerful cars from stop light to stop light you're probably hooking up pretty well. Plus, these cars only need about 300 rwhp to taste 12's. I'd say you would run right around 12.7 consistently, but not much faster.

I would have thought 12's easily once setup right for drag. Bit more stall and def need tires. 9 psi should add good amount of power with a d1

^^^But you were lighter and more optimized in your setup. Still really impressed with what that thing ran.

GenX do you think the injectors are holding you back any? Seems like 9#s would want a little more.

I dont see it making more than 350 whp and 24's are good for that plus boost reference fmu

Re: YUP, Another- What Will I Run?

I would really like to shoot for 15#'s. And push 400RWHP 425+RWTQ. A few years back somebody made those numbers on a stock LB9 with the same cam as mine. It was I think a 91/92 black Z28.

Ive also considered a nicely worked over set of 113's. With those I can even up the cam with the right hardware, And up the boost.

Id really be content knocking on 11's door. How else could I pickup HP + TQ easily and cheaply with what I already have to work with?

More stall, really? I figured with TPI and boost 24-2600 would be adequate for street use. What would you suggest Orr89rocZ?

Re: YUP, Another- What Will I Run?

2800-3000 for optimal launch. Slp runners plus that cam will push peak torque in the mid 3000's rpm range. Not a huge deal tho, 2400 will do well enough

Next best thing you can do is tune the thing, either play with fuel pressure and fmu, or go 2-3 bar map tune and ditch the fmu
