Car: 1987 GTA originally 350TPI 3.27posi Engine: 383 C.I.D. Transmission: 700R4 | What to do before installing Supercharger on stock 305TPI? | Its an 87 bone stock 305TPI Pontiac Formula with 156,xxx miles but runs stronger as it could be, doesn't consume oil and been meticuosly maintained. I bought the car a month ago and plan to drop in a 350 L-98 engine that sits on my garage once I get around to building it. Here's the deal. I have the old Paxton 85-87 Supercharger setup mounted into an engine, all I would do is take a weekend to transfer everything into my reliable 305TPI. Before doing so however, I planned to do certain things to keep the car running for a while. A complete tune-up with new plugs, wires, cap, rotor and maybe even an MSD, Crane, Jacobs ignition. Buy a aftermarket Fuel Pressure regulator and gauge. Bump up the Fuel Pressure. Then, I would probably need a new O2 sensor to maintain an accurate A/F ratio and replace the injectors or send them out to be cleaned. A new fuel pump would be a good insurance policy and would do it if I get around to it. I think I cover some major tuning points if I miss anything let me know. I'm preparing everything within the next month. | | | |
