Question for Bhaas
I just have a few questions about your fuel system:
1. On your fuel pump, where is the vent you plugged, and where did you boost reference it at? Do you know the part number on the pump?
2.Do you have a fuel regulator?
3. Do you have stock fuel lines? If not, what did you do?
4.How much boost are you running?
thanks
Billy

The fuel pump part # is HLY-12-327-11. If you look in the Summit catalog you'll see the vent hole. I plugged that one and drilled one in the other side and put a fitting in it and ran a line to my bonnet for boost reference. I'm using the return line for fuel and I have no regulator and I'm running 9 psi blowing thru an Edelbrock 800. I just got it running right and it was dry last night so I took it out on the freeway late at night and got to 5 psi and I was running lean. That was with .110 secondary jets. I put .119 jets in today and if it drys up some I'm gonna go out again. If it still goes lean, then I'll be drilling out the jets or might even try running without just for fun

now, the way I understand it a boost refferenced fuel pressure regulator is usually used to boost fuel pressure 1:1 or in other words one PSI of fuel pressure for each psi of boost. usually this requires a near EFI quality fuel pump and plumbed in a return style fuel system. when this is done the boost cannot press the fuel back out of the carburator towards the pump through the needle and seat. Have you already been told about this phenomenon?

Thank you B4C. Yes I've heard of this phenomenon. I'm doing the Mike Sitar mech fuel pump setup. My fuel pressure rises with boost. I have a fuel gauge installed so I can watch it. Just got back from the junkyard. Needed an oil drain for one of my turbos. The one I made sucked. I was in and out of there in less than 30 minutes, and they just gave it to me for free. Just got it on. If I have to, I'll install an electric fuel pump with a return style regulator. I might try the intank pump first with a regulator. I've heard 2 different stories on the stock intank pump. Some say it'll work and some say it won't. Does anyone know for sure on this or do I just have to wing it? Thanks.

do you have or are you thinking of getting EGT gauge? and do you have a basic O2 sensor now? (just for monitoring tuning)

I have a dual EGT gauge so I can see both sides. An A/F gauge, FP gauge, Boost gauge and a monster tack. I got more gauges then I know what to do with. I got six that I installed on the inside and the FP gauge in my cowl. Running out of gauge room. Guess I could put 3 more on my pillar. I like your site. Nice garage. Lots of room to work. I'm stuck in this one car garage. Gets pretty cramped in there.
