Intercooling and boost questions
couple questions, all for procharger systems.
1) if I was to buy the D-1SC, do they sell pulleys to run less boost? like around 9lb so I do not one day suddenly put a sunroof in my car.
2) Would I still benefit from a 3 core intercooler running less boost?
3) If I would always benifit from a 3 core over a two core would I be better off buying the P-600B kit and seeing if I could upgrade to a 3 core intercooler?
Thanks in advanced.

UVA3rdgen,
the smallest pulley available for the D1sc is a 8 rib belt - 10# pulley(4.00"), then the pulley sizes get smaller but are available in a 12-rib belt- 12# pulley(3.70"), 15# pulley (3.40")
The more you can cool the intake charge the less chance of detonation, and make more power, so yes you would benefit.
the P600B kit has oil lines that have to be installed in the oil pan, the self contained version of that unit is the P1sc, but the volume of air that the blower produces is alot less than the D1sc
call ATI and they will send you a bunch of info, also talk with the sales guy to determine which unit best fits your needs
later

What do you mean by rib? What would the boost be on that 4" pulley you were talking about? Could I run 12 lbs on a almost brand new stock 305 as long as it was sufficently cooled or would I be asking for it?

UVA3rdgen,
What do you mean by rib? The number of ribs in the belts, one side is flat, the other side has ribs.
What would the boost be on that 4" pulley you were talking about? On a stock 305 with a D1sc it would be 10 lbs. of boost at 6000 rpm's
Could I run 12 lbs on a almost brand new stock 305 as long as it was sufficently cooled or would I be asking for it? Running 12#'s of boost on a stock 305 is what ATI considers borderline, so they tell me, so i went with 10#'s on my 350
