It's a good idea if you can see in person, or get good pics of the underneath. If the seller is interested in selling, and honest, they will probably not mind getting a few pics for you.

The girl I bought my 88 Iroc from had restored from the ground up. It was a father/daughter project. She had to sell it a few years later as she had gone back to school and was running low on funds....
