Sure. I stuck a lable into the hole I made and then slid my bore scope into the channel and took a couple pics. Forgive the photo quallity of my bore scope. I made the mistake of buying the cheapest...

Re: Hmmm making 85-92 Trans Am hood functional?

I haven't tried anything with a fan but I did try just blowing air through one of the spare inserts I have. The mesh they used seems pretty restrictive.

Re: Hmmm making 85-92 Trans Am hood functional?

Anciant thread back from the dead. I finally did what I was thinking about when this conversation was started. All I'm doing is using it as a bit of a cool air source but I basicly just cut a hole in...

You can actually pull each of the displays off of the cluster. I've replaced bulbs that way.

That's the Sunoco hood. I don't know who makes it but maybe that'll help you. It definitely looks good on early 3rd gens.

Re: Let's Talk Hoods

The power bulge hood is what should have been on your TA and is what I think looks best. I like the ram air I hood for the 85 and up TAs but IMO the 82-84 TA styling is too hard edged for the sort of...

Re: Installation of CXRacing's LS based third-gen turbo kit

Looking at the first few pics I didn't think the waste gate was going to fit with a down pipe on the turbo but that fits like a glove.

Re: Installation of CXRacing's LS based third-gen turbo kit

Not that you would care at this point but CX also has SBC kits including a single 76mm kit for about the same money.

Re: 1987-1988 GTA Digital dash questions

You can just take the trim off and slide the display out of the assembly to get to the bulb. I did mine that way but it's easy to damage it.

Re: Hmmm making 85-92 Trans Am hood functional?

There are large holes in the hood structure between the front and rear vents about half way back that the insulation covers.

Re: Hmmm making 85-92 Trans Am hood functional?

I've removed my hood insulation and pulled out the foam from behind the rear vents. That's as good as it gets without removing metal.

Re: So you want to keep your 305

I hear that same line too. People that say that don't know what was going on back then. In 1969 Chevrolet had a 302 that was rated at 290hp. In 1985, when TPI came out, their 454 didn't make that...

Re: How to take apart smoked 1982 - 1984 Trans Am tail lights (with pictures)

Also 87-90 GTA tail lights are smoked. The outer lens is has a slight tint to it compared to regular Trans Am tail lights of the same year.

Mac sells wheels that mount to a die grinder. Comes out perfect but takes a while. The bench grinder wheel would be ideal if you have the space.
