Re: Turbo Iroc - Round Four (Edit: Staying Gen1, new PT7675, heads, intake)

When I was messing with PWM and the walbro 410lb/hr, Walbro said they test down to 8 volts.
What is the lowest voltage you can PWM the Aeromotive at according to them? Or is a try it and see test?

Re: Turbo Iroc - Round Four (Edit: Staying Gen1, new PT7675, heads, intake)

2.3 volts to a logic input is a no-no. Sounds like something went wrong with soldering/install.

2) Measure the voltage at the input (pin) of the MS where you...

Yes, pulley will have run out. Install ring, put pulley on lathe and true up the ring. Check run-out and make sure teeth are still "deep" enough.

The GM '427 PCM is pretty reliable. Has two...

Re: Turbo Iroc - Round Four (Edit: Staying Gen1, new PT7675, heads, intake)

I recommend checking how "out-of-round" the pulley is and dial indicating the install of the ring. You may need to put the pulley on a lathe first. The teeth and hall effect pickup will miss teeth if...

The better HEI will do it. Also helps to run a switched coil power wire from the back of the alternator to the coil for max voltage.

Re: Turbo Iroc - Round Four (Edit: Staying Gen1, new PT7675, heads, intake)

Start simple.

1) Verify you have the HEI output wired to the MS correctly
2) Verify you have the MS trigger edge set correctly
3) Set Hardware Spark latency correctly

Re: Turbo Iroc - Round Four (Edit: Staying Gen1, new PT7675, heads, intake)

I just found where it says the 6AL requires .9 amps input for every 1,000 rpm.

At 6k rpm, that is .9 * 6 = 5.4 Amps of input power. Suppose it chews up .25amps internally. That leaves 5.2 amps of...

ZZ3Astro,
GM used a latency table in the GM ECMs which is for the HEI trigger and Module. Apply this table (advance) to your new ECM.

Stock and aftermarket HEI modules are not that impressive....
