you can get a Speed Sensor at a salvage yard or new, i seen a website posted in these forms, just do not remember where, it was about vss. from the looks of it, the seals (o-rings) are shot. for that...

measure both tail shafts, yours might be a 6 inch. if that is the case, you would need to cut the drive shaft and doing what i had to do. best bet would be to look for a short tail shaft th350/375...

as long as the nut(s) does not turn, drill and tap would work. i just have not been that lucky, so i had to make the wrench whole.

sorry, i meant throwout bearing, not pilot bearing. i was preoccupied when i typed that (a phone call).
to me it sounds like the throwout bearing is in wrong, check that out first.

is the pilot beering in right? sounds to me, it might have either been put in wrong or it fell out of the hlding clip.

i have cut a hole on the inside big enough for a wrench, then put a nut on (i used duck tape to hold the nut to the wrench). it did not hurt the stuctural integrity of the frame.

his code reader is probably a obd2 (96 and up), you need a obd1 code reader (95 and older)

an update on my trainy problem.
it now upshifts at about 5000 rpms, once it is in 3rd, i have to keep my foot on the pedal or it slows down fast. i ordered the right speedo gears and had a 700r4...

i went from a 700r4 to a th400 long tail. i had to relocate my trainy cross member, change trainy mount, get a vaccume port for the intake for the modulor. i just got a new modulor and half a govener...

it does not up shift till about 7500 to 9000 rpms, the 1-2 shift is at about 50 mph, the 2-3 is the same for rpms but at about 80 mph, it idles fine and when i let off the throttle, it idles normal...

i would go with a th350. i have had nothing but badd luck with the 700r4's. i had a th400 setting around, so i used that, it is a lot more work then the th350 would be.

there should be a screw on the front right side of the TB, it might have a cap covering the hole the screw is in. look on the front side where the throtle is.
you might need a carb adjusting...

does it have a modulator on the pass side of the trainy? if it does, check the vaccume line (rubber ends). if they are connected and not cracked, the vaccume mod might be bad.

bad88_milldawg, look in the full size vans and the 95 and up 4x4 pickups. their driveshafts should be about the size you need. i took a 700r4 out and put in a th400 long output shaft in a 1500 extend...
