Thanks, I think I have it wrong. If I run an LS style 4l60e behind a gen1 SBC. the TQ will be pushed back 0.400. That is probably too much.
You are back 0.130.

You can test the o2 with a volt meter, however I can not tell you which wire. You need to find the signal wire it will produce a 1 volt signal.
Anything bellow 0.4 volts = lean
Anything above 0.4...

The noise it makes is not as relevant as the leak itself. If there is a leak and it is letting air in then the 02 will read lean (0 to 0.4 volts) and cause a false lean condition. A good scan tool...

I have just been through this with my aftermarket set up. See if you can find a spot on the return line you can clamp. and try the test again. That will help rule out the Fuel Pressure Regulator.
