Should I sell it?

Bought my 82 Z28 (crossfire) in 1984 with 12k miles on the clock. It was my daily driver up until abt 1999. Racked up 230k miles. Car was bone stock. Got the bug to start upgrading it. Bought a 87...

Re: Wierd Engine Idle

The plugs should be slightly tan colored. A compression test would be a good idea if you haven't done one in a while.
There's few different ways to check for a miss. A solid miss is a lot easier to...

Re: Opinions on proper valve adjustment hydraulic cam/lifters, with roller rockers

Re: Have results of compression test, need advice.

I never tried it but, I suppose you could rig up an adapter so you could pressurize say cyl#8 and connect your compression gauge to cyl#6 and see if any pressure transfers. You would need to loosen...

Re: Have results of compression test, need advice.

The leakdown (also known as a differential compression) test will tell you where the leak is. Just listen in the intake, exhaust and oil cap. You should be able to hear air leaking from one of those....

Re: Awkward overheating

Assuming your lower radiator hose isn't collapsing any more, verify the air dam is in good shape.
In regards to the missing, pull/inspect the plugs.
A compression test would be a good idea too.

Re: Shattered Spark Plug, What did it break? Please Help!

Best to tear it down now. If it continues to run you risk debris getting into other cyls and causing more damage. I had a chunk of exhaust valve break off on a chevy 350 in my boat. I ran it till it...

Re: What is the Sensor Screwed into the Intake

Its on the front of the eng, just below the thermostat. The connectors tend to fall apart after a while. You can check the resistance of the sensor and compare with a temp/resistance chart like this:

Re: What is the Sensor Screwed into the Intake

If you have a MAF, the MAT sensor has no effect on mixture, it's only used for EGR operation.

If you have a MAP, it can have a small effect.

If you running very rich, I would check the coolant...

Re: Unable to copy ign timing table

I checked the xdf's conversion tab for the spark table.
