Rockauto has dash pad covers if you have a dash in bad condition. I've had one on my dash for a while and you can't tell it's a cover.

A bad IAC won't allow your car to run at idle. You'd have to keep on the gas to keep it running.

I bought a new gauge and it fixed my issue. The new gauge doesn't send the needle "full force" to the max position when starting. It seems to limit it from doing that. I haven't had the issue...

In your other post Bob88GTA said he thinks the mercury switch is in the bulb housing, unfortunately I can't confirm that. The fuse is connected to a 2 prong connector to get the power then routes up...

I should come apart because it's a fuse. You should be able to pul it apart and then try and push the wire through to see if you can work with it.

If you can't find an installation manual you will probably have to spend some time in some wiring diagrams and reattach the wires going in to the system to the wires going out of the system.

When I did mine I sanded all the trim with 320/ 220 sandpaper, cleaned with soap and water, used some prep spray, adhesion promoter then paint. Everything seems to have held together pretty well.

That "wire harness" seems very sketchy. It looks like it's grounded to the block with a red wire. Tell what kind of engine you have and I can post a wiring diagram.
